Why? I read her Wikipedia bio and didn't see anything bad, is there something they omitted? Well didn't she adopt some little Russian girl who turned out to be an adult serial killer or something?

Everyone needs a you in their lives to spice things up. Vera has never had a murderous Russian foster daughter, strange I know. She has two of her own.

Peg Entwistle, Broadway star who was the inspiration for Bette Davis becoming an actress. In 1932, she was signed by RKO to do 13 Women. The movie was not a success and Entwistle’s contract was dropped. It was the middle of the Depression, the actress was broke, there was no stage work and could not even afford transportation back to New York. In complete despair, she committed suicide by jumping from the H in the Hollywood sign. She was 24 years old.
