It actually looks kind of interesting, but I'm sure he'll find some way to fuck it up, since that's just what he does.

I've seen 4 of his movies and he's 50-50, which is better than most any other other writer-director-producer. Artistic victories with Sixth Sense and Village. but humiliating flops with Unbreakable and Lady in the Water.
As a theater experience, it doesn't look great, going for his usual "shock effect" which is meant for feeble minded folks, but he tries to make the story line for thinkers, so it's probably something to watch on TV or roku or some small screen. I'm not impressed with this big screen style, because it is just shock effect directing.

So what kind of twist does he have up his sleeve this time? It better not be be something stupid like them being a part of some twisted experiment on psychological drugs and what not.

So what kind of twist does he have up his sleeve this time? It better not be be something stupid like them being a part of some twisted experiment on psychological drugs and what not. I once wrote a short story in typewriter days about some people who went through a bizarre experience, only to find they were behind a wrecked truck that had such a hallucinogenic gas escape. I took it to a meeting where the people hated it so much that they borrowed each copy, and while one of them spoke to me, the others ripped up every copy to shreds. So, I figured it had no future. I didn't insult anyone in the story, so the story itself just irked people. (There was one control freak who insisted on tearing it up. He controlled the others and over time the group dissolved.)

What a box-office magnet title that is. They will be packing them in for sure.
A privileged son of multicultural monopoly Hollywood. They made a huge deal about him--he's from a wealthy family--an immigrant success story --which is fine--but why so much focus on him--what about some working class success story from Idaho or something?
They aren't interested in promoting the development of that segment of the US society in cultural production.
This is what Soviet-style cinema was like-they only hired people who satisfied the bureaucratic credentials of the ones who had the money. The audience didn't matter at all.
The public isn't demanding more M Night Shyamalan films.
Why do movies suck? Because there is a deliberate suppression of voices in the culture.
50 years ago this week you could see a sci-fi movie directed by a white guy born in Pennsylvania or a comedy western by another white guy born in Michigan.
I am happy someone born in India can be making films that dominate US cinemas but that's not native culture.
I imagine Indian filmgoers in Bombay are not interested in having Hollywood replace Bollywood. Think about that. India's film industry is more healthy than the one in the US.

At almost 3:00 long, that was a bit too much shown.

At almost 3:00 long, that was a bit too much shown. Think of how boring the flick must be if they thought they had to show you that much to get you interested. And I'm still not.

So what kind of twist does he have up his sleeve this time? It better not be be something stupid like them being a part of some twisted experiment on psychological drugs and what not. If it follows the graphic novel, no twist happens at all.

I read the comic/graphic novel this is based on. Knowing Shamalamadingdong he will add some twist that was not even in the original comic.
