Tom Donahue's documentary 'This Changes Everything' is an interesting piece on inequality in Hollywood and the drivers behind it. I like it when it deals with history, data, facts and documented legal cases. It's co-produced by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media which has been doing exceptional research work in this arena.

I think Reese Witherspoon nails it when she mentions Hollywood studios sometimes reject strong economics in order to keep whack policies in place. As Natalie Portman mentions, sometimes you need to direct yourself, but this is a well-backed system designed to uphold numerous branches dependent on big money, from popcorn and shares, to sponsorship and merchandise.
'This Changes Everything' is currently screening on the Sky Documentaries channel.
