Anyone see this early Oliver Stone film? The premise sounds wild.

No. Scream Factory just released a new Blu ray of it. Never realized Oliver Stone dabbled in the horror genre. Looks like it wasn’t well received though

Yes. I got a kick out of it.
It is a competently made trashy B horror movie with an effective performance from Michael Caine. It definitely has it's creepy moments, dark humor and actually emotionally compelling to some extent.
6.5/10

Funny to think about, considering what movies he is known for making. Seizure is his first movie and is way crazier than The Hand, but also a much worse movie imo. www.imdb.com/title/tt0072136/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

I couldn't get enough of the trailer, so I went ahead and purchased the recent Blu-ray release.

I liked it. It's the type of film I like calling a flick because that's what it feels like. It doesn't fall over itself trying to make the mechanics of its world works. It's a severed hand, it kills people. That's what the score is.

It's not bad, weird enough to be pretty memorable. It gives Michael Caine more to do than Dressed to Kill did. You'd never guess it was an Oliver Stone movie just from watching it, though.

Oliver Stone plays a bum.
One of Sir Michael Caine's notorious "paycheck movies", alongside Ashanti (1979), The Swarm (1978), Jaws: The Revenge (1987), The Island (1980), Blame It on Rio (1984), and Beyond the Poseidon Adventure (1979).
