Yes. And Thomas Newman's cousin is Randy Newman. Their whole family is composers. David Newman (Thomas's brother) is also a composer. He is lesser known and less talented, but he has composed the scores for a whole bunch of well-known movies.

Apparently he’s also the uncle of musician/composer Randy Newman, singer of the 80s hit song “I Love L.A.” Oh, and Randy wrote the music for the Toy Story movies, or something like that.
