What do you think of this? It didn't do too well back when it came out but it's become sort of cult favorite over the years.
Next to Tremors, I think it's probably the best monster movie throwback.

The gore and creature effects are delightfully gross. But the characters were not very memorable.

I remember Michael Rooker turning into Jabba the hut but that's all I remember from the movie.

It's got nice effects but not one I revisit.
I think the severed dog head jokes makes more sense now after seeing some of the Gunn tweets.
The deputy in that film was in my high school class.

It's an enjoyable B-movie with great special effects. It's pretty good for what it is.
