The Passion of the Christ board was pretty trafficked back in the day, I've been told. It became the RFS Board on the old IMDb when the Politics and Religion and other special interest boards were created like Watercooler etc.

Well a lot of the posters that would make really bad arguments and die on a hill defending them are gone, so there's that. I remember when Arlon would come on here and make some dumb post ("Ad homs are perfectly valid arguments and aren't fallacious!") and that would turn into a 5+ page epic LOLfest.

Meh. It turned into a circle-jerk of self-satisfied atheists all trumpeting how logical'n'rational'n'intelligent they all were, while trotting out the same utterly boring cliches, donning the mantle of oppressed victimhood and dogpiling any hapless newbie who happened to stumble upon the board to talk about their religious belief. During my very occasional introspective moments when I ponder on the existence of an afterlife, I always imagine hell to be a bit like this.
The board was only kept alive by thick-skinned individuals like Smithy, by the likes of Planet Arlon whose barkingly insane musings attracted the aforementioned logical'n'rational'n'intelligent circle-jerk like flies round a turd, plus the occasional poe who tried to stir the pot. When even they gave up, the board died.
So congratulations, circle-jerkers - you have eliminated religion and taken the territory! Enjoy what you have.

Anyway, why aren't you celebrating the territory you have gained and exploiting all the logical'n'rational'n'intellectual religion-free circle-jerking riches that this board now has to offer? Are you worried another Christian might sneak in under the radar and preach the word while your defences are down?

Yeah, that was quite a well-established method of ensuring the eventual destruction of this board. Another one was asking an 'innocent' question of the type that theologians have been debating for centuries, like "Why does God allow bad things to happen?" (yawn) or "Why don't Christians kill their children while they are young so they pass into heaven without sin?" (yes, seriously) and then piling in like a pack of starving hyenas on any poor sod who attempted to give a serious answer with fatuous comments such as "Well that's silly cuz God doesn't exist" or something similar. No wonder nobody learned anything here.
