And tonight on IMDb I see only 16 reviews for it. I thought there were almost 100 for it yesterday somebody said? Or was that for Rotten Tomatoes?

Looks like trash. Just another "white people are evil and poor blacks are victims" crapfest from hollywood. Only the lower intelligence crowd will see this. Does it upset your equilibrium? I thought there might be some SJW to the positive reviews, but it is good. While it is not my favorite film, I see Avengers as a pretty perfect film in that there is no fluff or waste. There is no scene that one could cut to make it tighter & I saw it 8 times in a theater. This one is there. I gave it a 10 when I wanted to go 9 on IMDB because 11% have given it a 1-likely sight unseen. For me a 10 has reachability & I don't feel this one is high on that, but that goes for a lot of horror. Once seen, the thing is done. I do think I'll rewatch it, but it's not Princess Bride/Die Hard flipping channels & stop to watch. There's a subtly to the humor, though not as good as Cabin in the Woods. Like when the baddie is dragging the first victim pretty much to the beat of the song playing.

I note the last 2 seasons of Key & Peele sit at 100%, though not enough reviews for a concensus

I watched it with my boyfriend, my friend and her husband. It was okay.
Loves: The best friend and TSA Agent. Lol. I thought he was brilliant.
Likes: I thought the main male lead and the black woman who played the housekeeper attendent did a great job. Fine acting. Great emotional control. You could actually see the struggle beneath the surface when the woman was fighting to break through. I liked the Invasion of the Body Snatchers idea. I liked that the movie explored experience and racial themes without going overboard.
Meh: Character motivation in the end. I didnt like that he seemed to rethink killing the main character. Didnt make sense.
Dislikes: That the movie was so politicized. Politics and social commentary couched in a horror film. Is this what happens when black people make horror. A lot of subliminal messages to white people to hate themselves. I didnt like the freeforall potshots directed at white people. Imagine the uproar if some white guy made a movie going on about what "white people" put up with in our encounters with blacks -and made generalizing comments about black people throughout? I didnt like the crowd. Insane black moviegoers behind us screaming "kill the white bitch". Stupid comments really killed deeper aspects of the film, too. "N*gga run!!!" I thought the tea scene was nice but the mood was nearly ruined with "Dat bitch dropped dat nigga", "Wait, what happen? Im lost." and the sucking of teeth as though the scene was fluff. Then, when the groundskeeper shot himself at the end. "Oooh, he in love wit her"
No, the groundskeeper didnt shoot himself because he was in love with the female lead. The body was occupied by the grandfather while a sliver of the black mans conscious remained in a psychological prison of sorts. Once he was able to regain control of his body--you know what? Nevermind.

Peele was Obama to Key's Luther, Obama's anger interpreter. He remained calm as Luther went through all sorts of histrionics. Have you seen any of their other stuff? He may be half the team, but it would give you something of an idea of his basic style. I didn't get a general white hate off this. Peele's mother is white & his spouse is white. I got more a KKK/secret society thing off it. Nazis My theater was quiet outside of appropriate crowd sounds-laughs, gasps, etc. Who thought love? It was The Fly "Kill me"

Damn, wish I could see this tonight! Just not in the cards. If anyone sees this tonight, let us know if it lives up to the hype. I could see going in with high expectations and coming out disappointed if is just good.Saw it yesterday! I do like it a lot and will probably buy it on Blu-Ray. As one user said, the film does balance humor and horror pretty well, but i wouldn't call it scary. Only thing I kind of was disappointed with is that come near the end, while still very entertaining, I felt like I was watching a Key and Peele sketch. It's a great debut, but now I really want to watch Peele direct a true white knuckle thriller/horror. Would say 8/10. I really enjoyed this film. I think it is my favorite of the year so far. Even though some of it was predictable, I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. It was genuinely funny, although toward the end it was very "sketch" comedy, but I still really liked it a laughed out loud throughout the movie. 8.5/10. Good job Peele.

Imagine the uproar if some white guy made a movie going on about what "white people" put up with in our encounters with blacks -and made generalizing comments about black people throughout? And it is a film produced by Jews. Imagine how crazy they would get if they were called out for things like owning a hundred plantations or slave ships. Jews and Muslims were very much involved in the African slave trade. Christians were the ones that condemned it eventually, not the Jews or Muslims. Roots and other Hollywood slavery movies always "whitewash" slavery. In fact the first court case on the legality of slavery was made by a black man named Anthony Johnson who wanted legal ownership of another black man John Casor. Hollywood and its Wall Street Talmud allies have really gone into full lunacy mode with its agitprop--this is why they lost the election. You cannot keep attacking white people for things they did not do, or using double standards. The media has been so dishonest and deliberately represses facts--I had no idea Emmett Till's father was executed in Italy for a sex murder, or that Martin Luther King Jr was with two prostitutes the night before he died (not to mention the stuff about plagiarism). All John Kennedy's escapades have been well know, why not for MLK Jr? And how come it never gets mentioned that MLK Jr's widow reportedly moved to a white neighborhood to escape the crime in the black one she lived in? Oy! The way they are pushing race mixing is so obvious, David Duke is dancing for joy because it backs up what he has been saying for decades about Jews wanting to use non-whites to attack white society.

Why try to understand what life is like for someone else when you can just shut your ears and eyes and whine instead?

I'm taking this thread back. Get Out had an outstanding hold on Monday and only dropped 58%. I know Logan comes out this week, but I think Get Out will still have decent holds this weekend despite Logan. I could see it dropping 40-45% with Split taking the hit this weekend. I think 18M is a reasonable number.
Does this surpass 100M domestic? That is the question. With Logan, Kong, BatB coming out in the following weeks, what do you think?

Has had good numbers during the week as well. It's not pure horror, but it is the best horror/thriller fans will get for the moment until The Belko Experiment. It's not a huge movie, but it is a movie that everyone wants to talk more about with others, and I think that'll continue to spark interest for those who haven't seen to be part of the conversation to go see.

I would never watch this movie. And if you would...You're a piece of shit with no values. This is clearly liberal propaganda about how black people are wonderful and white people are creepy and evil. Fuck this movie. I thought it was a parody when I first saw the trailer. That's how racist this movie is.

Get Out had an estimated 8M Friday, pretty much guarantees a 20M+ weekend. That may bring it to 70M after week 2. There are going to be many blockbusters released in March, and horror/thrillers don't usually have great holds (few exceptions). I think it will make it to 100M. Does anyone know if this is being released WW? I couldn't find any data for international box office. I assume bloomhouse rightly assumes that there isn't much of a market for this overseas.

Getting a release in the UK in a few weeks, and hitting Philippines, Ireland, Hungary, and other Europe places in April. www.imdb.com/title/tt5052448/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_dt_dtBut I think you're very right. This isn't an international movie.

Saw this with my wife yesterday and we both enjoyed the movie. I figured out the plot twist in less than thirty minutes. I still enjoyed the movie, but I don't understand all of the love for the TSA friend? How can I be the only person that thought that he was borderline ruining the movie? I found him tremendously annoying and stereotyped. I would give this film a 7.5/10. If it wasn't for a major plot hole that nobody brings up, and the annoying friend, I would probably have given it a 8.5. Also please think twice before bringing your young children to this movie as there was a VERY raunchy trailer on just before the movie started. Extremely sexually explicit, and I counted at least 20 under ten year olds in the theater. Times are definitely not like they used to be.

That movie looks horrible.

Dislikes: That the movie was so politicized. Politics and social commentary couched in a horror film. Is this what happens when black people make horror. A lot of subliminal messages to white people to hate themselves. Poor little pathetic snowflake. Why try to understand what life is like for someone else when you can just shut your ears and eyes and whine instead? If you weren't such a dirt stupid hate filled little bigot you MIGHT see the irony in your bitter and sad little comment. Now pat yourself on the back for being such a faux enlightened little liberal. Maybe one day you will meet a swarthy person in real life. Won't that be exciting?

Right, so criticizing someone for whining instead of trying to understand what another person's life experiences are like is "bigotry" and "hate". And who am I a bigot against? Who do I hate? Straight white men, like myself? You pathetic Neanderthal losers really have trouble with the basics of rational thought, don't you?
