The film dramatizes the 1921 expedition to climb Mt. Everest. McGregor is expected to play famed mountaineer George Mallory who along with his colleague Andrew Irvine later disappeared during the 1924 effort;the frozen body of Mallory was discovered in 1999 at an elevation over 26,000 feet.

So kind of like a prequel to the that Everest movie starring Jason Clarke. This was the expedition that first reported footprints supposedly belonging to the Yeti. I wonder if they'd reference that at all.

Kind of interesting that they’re using the exact same title as the one just a few years ago. That was a decent movie, too. It’s not like it was panned or a failure or anything.
