I usually go through osmosis. I will routinely return to the thread I'm getting the notifications on so they disappear on their own.
There is no doubt where most of these notifications are from so I'm just waiting for the sound and the fury to calm down since replying immediately to everything is probably not going to help the situation one way or the other.

Just click "profile" then "notifications" then refresh and they will be gone. I logged in the other evening and I had 6 notifications all from one certain poster who I rarely speak to. I promptly updated my ignore list.  |

I wanted to see where they would peak.
plus once I click on it I'll forget to respond to some of them and I imagine a few of them are quite lively between the Politic Board and the Suicide thread.
People DO NOT like Trump being called an idiot over there.
