Jinder Mahal Returns ...
Cast your mind back to happier days, if you will. Randy Orton warned everybody in the WWE locker room that Jinder Mahal was coming for them, adding that he was a man with all the tools needed to reach the apex of the wrestling business. Unfortunately, Orton didn't bank on it being him at the wrong end of Mahal's fury. Ever since that day, an epic feud has raged between the two of them, with both men gaining the upper hand at times.

Cut forward to today and the picture's very different. 2-time WWE Champion and former WWE Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre has been accused of putting off facing Jinder Mahal one-on-one. McIntyre claims it's a colossus of a match-up that deserves to happen in front of a packed crowd, so it's been a no-go during the pandemic.
Mahal's been on a long road back from major surgery after his career was threatened by injury. So, with WWE set to hit the road again, and Mahal back inside the squared circle where he belongs, rumours are now circulating that this could be the moment when they clash one-on-one. The only spanner in the works is Bobby Lashley now holds the WWE Championship belt.

Despite having his career derailed by serious injury, former WWE Champion Mahal is also a former WWE United States Champion. While McIntyre can boast being a 2-time Tag-Team Champion in WWE, Mahal is a 2-time WWE 24/7 Champion. Mahal's no longer with the Singh Brothers who've been exiled for their failings, but like his old nemesis A.J. Styles, he's got some new muscle behind him. They look like they're several steps up in bulk and size but will they remain as loyal to the "Modern Day Maharaja" as sacrificial lambs, the Singhs?
NOTA BENE : The Shield and 3MB have become two legendary factions in WWE due to their highly decorated wrestling trios. Neither faction exists today, but old memories die hard.

It seems very likely, but maybe the feud would start off with Jinder Mahal getting in the way of Drew winning back the WWE Championship, assuming the rumors of Bobby Lashely vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Summerslam is true.
Drew has already faced his other friends from the past like Dolph Ziggler, and his other friend from 3MB aside from Jinder Mahal, in Heath Slayer. Jinder Mahal would of course be an even bigger deal given his experience as WWE Champion.

I didn't know Drew McIntyre was in line to meet Brock Lesnar but it makes perfect sense. Every made guy in WWE nowadays has to meet Lesnar somewhere down the stretch. A dedicated wrestling fan I used to work with told me a young McIntyre was Vince McMahon's chosen one when he was in development, just as Mahal was championed by Randy Orton in the dressing room from an early stage. Vince saw McIntyre as the ultimate wrestling hybrid for the 21st century, a hard-bodied superathlete of considerable size and skill who could become a multi-time WWE Champion and a company face.
Heath Slater's now back with Rhyno at Impact Wrestling.

^ I don't know about Drew wrestling Brock again. I mean, Drew was the last person Brock faced and he lost, so he would be trying to get back at him if they did have a rematch. Bobby Lashley on the other hand has been calling Brock out for years with no answer, and he's even taken his place on Raw to an extent, as the big dominant champion with a credible mouth piece in MVP, just as Brock had with Paul Heyman. With this said, WWE may skip over Drew vs Brock part 2 for Bobby vs Brock for the first time ever.
I havent' watched Impact in many years now, but good on Rhyno and Heath Slater if they're finding success there. I seem to recall them making a name for themselves briefly in WWE as a tag time for a little while, and then they were gone.

Sorry, yes, you were saying Bobby Lashley could be in the frame for a title fight against Brock Lesnar.
Michiganders Rhyno and RVD are still wrestling at Impact! but Rhyno's often brawling backstage or getting hardcore with Tommy Dreamer who's in a management role.
RVD has disappeared down a rabbit hole with his wrestler girlfriend Katie Forbes who's obsessed with twerking. It's sad to see but he's taken some heat recently over a threesome he aired clips from with Forbes, Jennifer Barlow and one of their big-bottomed, twerker pals. In the ring, he's looked a spent force, to be honest.

The feud has well and truly ignited between Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre who are teeing off in the worst way possible. Reading the comments on youtube, sounds like most fans are loving the intensity being brought by these charismatic, hard-hitting players, as well as all the baggage they bring to the table.
Mahal's added some new moves to his arsenal while he's been out injured, some of which look tailor-made to attack McIntyre, including a high-intensity superkick to compliment his clubbing knee strikes, so it seems pretty clear he was staying true to his word when he said there was only one man in the company he wanted to get to. Mahal also looks deadlier with Shanky and Veer flanking him. For his part, Drew McIntyre looks like he's taking this attack far more personally than previous threats to his throne. He's usually cracking smiles but not this time. I'm reminded of when Roman Reigns turned his back on Seth Rollins and the Messiah took his shot.
The Jindertaker
Anyone interested shoud check out how events unfolded at the 'Money In The Bank' pay-per-view event for some backstory ... this is exactly the kind of fireworks WWE needed ...
Jinder Mahal loses it with Drew McIntyre (July 5th)

This will be the 4th biggest match on the card at Summerslam no doubt.

It's been so exciting so far, I hope they can maintain the tension. I figure you can't beat real history between two top wrestlers trending in the right direction when it comes to generating some dramatic tension in the ring, it adds so much spice. And so far, these guys are really bringing it. I was actually a little shocked to see Drew McIntyre getting back to being the Scottish psychopath that returned to WWE as an unstoppable force.

^ It just goes to show those two knew this rivalry was a long time coming, and they couldn't wait to work together. What they're doing so far may turn out to be some of their greatest work.

^ I'm still enjoying the build up, but they should probably share just a little more mic time together. Otherwise they've been one of my favorite parts about Raw.

Credit where credit's due. Drew McIntyre took Jinder Mahal to suplex city. This isn't over though, by a long way.

^ I was disappointed in how short this match ended up being after the intensity of the build up. I mean, it was a long time coming for them and Drew basically took down Jinder Mahal like he was nothing. They will continue their feud though no doubt, so they'll have more time for better matches.

There are worried fans online. Worried that Vince McMahon is pigeon-holing Jinder Mahal's new crew for sales to Saudi Arabia and overseas. He's even had them being pinned lately by the Viking Raiders so it's hard to see how Mahal can get a push. Mahal can't even take out Mansoor without getting disqualified so what hope for taking down a beast like Drew McIntyre.

^ Yup, so far Jinder Mahal's return hasn't amounted to anything. I was hoping to see him wrestle Drew Mcintyre again at the next ppv Extreme Rules, which could've taken their feud to the next level while they were already using chairs and swords on each other, but it looks like their match at Summerslam was a one and done kind of deal, and ultimately a wasted opportunity.

What's the status reckoning for Jinder Mahal? He can't coast through WWE on former glories forever, surely.

^ Yeah, the least he could do is go for the belt Nakamura just lost(though he probably wouldn't be winning it right now).

He's been in no man's land since his return. He needs to knock on Vince McMahon's door and address the big boss personally.
