What songs does Eric Clapton really go to town on?
I've seen him rocking hard and playing fast live, getting busy-fingered like he means it. He says the greatest bands are house bands like the Stax band. But more often than not, I see him gracefully playing the slow blues.
Thanks!

Never make the mistake of seeing him live. The most tedious hour I have ever spent at a gig before I walked out. (shortly after Mark Knopfler came on stage because it apparently wasn't boring enough.) The tickets were free but I still felt utterly ripped off.

Crossroads - Cream
Key to the Highway and Have You Ever Loved a Woman - Derek and the Dominos (EC and Duane Allman trade solos)

I guess songs when he was in his first band. What do eric clapton and coffee have in common? They both suck, without cream.

If I'd been lucky enough to be stood beside you as Mark Knopfler walked on to join Eric on stage, I'd have said, "Pinch me, I must be in dreamland".

Was more a nightmare, dull beyond belief. Technically great but utterly soulless. You would have been better listening to one of his records.

Ha, was the Royal Albert Hall I saw him too, would have been back in the late 80's. Beck's a great guitarist, just wished I liked his music more.

Saw him on Long Island NY 2015, it was a make up show for cancelling 3 years before, and he brought it. The flair, technicality, spirit and fun was in full force. I left with a greater respect.
