I like Shawshank as well, but I've always found The Green Mile to be more engaging, plus the darker themes and supernatural aspects are more appealing to me.

I think both are extremely good. Was very shocked to learn Darabont directed both!! I can see it though now actually.

I think both are extremely good. Was very shocked to learn Darabont directed both!! I can see it though now actually. Well they're both Stephen King period prison dramas dealing with the friendship between a white guy and a black guy, so I don't think it should come as that much of a surprise.

I prefer The Shawshank Redemption over The Green Mile though TGM is still very good.
