In 1998 when I was 9 years old I watched a TV special called Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County. It aired at night like a real prime time serious special. It was not real but at the time I thought it was completely legit. It had footage of a Minnesota family gathered together for Thanksgiving and they get invaded by aliens. Kinda like an alien Blair Witch Project although this came out a year earlier. It scared the hell out of me. I remember not being able to sleep that night. It was scarier for me because I live in Minnesota. Really the film was a remake of a 1989 film called The McPherson Tape The show stars Emmanuelle Chriqui in her first role and was produced by Dick Clark. Years later I rediscovered the show on Youtube. It was not as scary as it was when I was a kid.
Recently I found out that the version I watched watched was a edited for TV version and did not know about the complete and whole version. I got a copy and watched it. I must say its damn scary. Scariest film I seen in a while actually. If you like alien invasion and/or found footage film this is one to check out.
