Is there an earlier movie where the monster/killer attacks the people at a movie theater that are watching horror movies.
Demons, Scream 2, The Tingler, Popcorn, Targets etc.
Also, what are some other examples after The Blob?

I can't think of an earlier example, but I've mentioned this film before, He Knows You're Alone. The opening sequence is of a slasher film being viewed by some young ladies at a movie theater. The killer attacks one of them. I believe Scream 2 uses a similar sequence.

I was thinking of Rabid, but then I remembered it wasn't a horror movie the audience was watching; it was a porno. Oh well, guess my answer is disqualified.  |

I am curious to know what films did it before the Blob.
I would think some film must have shown a theater under attack in a movie.
The Tingler did it in 1959 I believe.

You ever see Anguish? The first half hour or so is a bizarro Euro-slasher flick starring Zelda Rubinstein and Michael Lerner, and then it pans out into the theater that movie is playing in, where a killer obsessed with the movie is murdering the audience, and then proceeds to intercut between the two for the rest of its runtime. The film-within-a-film eventually ends with Lerner himself on a killing spree inside a movie theater. It's a real mindf*ck...
