Lee Majors was mentored by Barbara Stanwyck. He said when she went down a mine and got trapped underground with Charles Bronson in 'The Big Valley', she got physical and had some fights, showing she was a "tough little lady".
"Barbara gave me my discipline. I'm always on the set before they need me, and I never leave the set, but I'm also the first to leave when they say, "That's a wrap". Barbara also taught me to learn your lines and everybody else's. I learn the whole script before I show up. It pays, because once you've got the lines in your head, you can concentrate on movement or doing things with your props. I've tried to pass that on to other actors -- make sure you know your words way ahead of time. The words are 90% of it. The other 10% is just the way you dress it up."

Majors understood the rough and tumble, having started out as a stuntman. He later played the unknown stuntman who made Clint Eastwood look so fine in 'The Fall Guy'. In reality, Majors and Eastwood were sports buddies who played softball together.

George Clooney was inspired by Majors in his acting. Clooney was considered for a role in 'The Cover Girl Murders' (1993) but didn't get the part; Majors portrayed powerful publishing magnate Rex Kingman.

Lee Majors is set to co-star in the hotly-anticipated comedy 'Spring Break '83' (tentatively scheduled for 2021) which has been shooting in Maurepas, Louisiana, but this project is said to have been disrupted by the gobal pandemic. It's a remake of Sean Cunningham's comedy 'Spring Break' (1983). The cast includes Robert Davi, Erik Estrada, Morgan Fairchild, Joe Pantoliano, Joe Piscopo, Richard Portnow, Larry B. Scott and Adrian Zmed in supporting roles.
"My greatest thrill in the three years I've been in Hollywood was the night I went to the screening of King Rat (1965) and the party after, that Elizabeth [Taylor] and Richard Burton gave for George Segal. Everybody was there, Julie Andrews, Sean Connery, Lana Turner; I was like a fan. There were three big booths in the restaurant, and I was sitting in the one next to where the Burtons were sitting. Later in the evening, she was standing next to me. I asked her if I could kiss her on the cheek and she said he wouldn't like it. But then she changed her mind, and gave me one."
