Julie Newmar is an actress, dancer, political activist, real estate mogul, fashion designer, lingerie inventor and all-round entrepreneur. One of America's most remarkable women, who's said to have done a lot of good work for California.
She's also a keen gardener, still chasing down illusions. Here she is in a recent interview she gave to the 'Los Angeles Times'. She's joined by her son John Jewl Smith who inspired her design of the garden she's interviewed in.

 She was one hell of a cat too!  The Marriage-Go Round 1961, based on a play. Wife (Susan Hayward) is worried her husband (James Mason) is going to accept to father their Swedish exchange student. Her name is Katrin Sveg.  She also have a movie that has her name in the title, To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar 1995 Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo as drag queens on a road trip into the deep south, could have been horrible, not great, but does actually have the heart in the right place.

That's right. Beeban Kidron's comedy was voted one of the top 10 classic comedies on Netflix. It was rereleased to cinemas in 2019, before the pandemic hit. Patrick Sawyze probably was excited to work with Newmar who'd made 'Dance Academy' (1988) when he was making 'Dirty Dancing' (1987).
She was in some great comedies. Like John Derek's 'Ghosts Can't Do It' (1989) which earned former U.S. President Donald Trump a Razzie nomination for Worst Supporting Actor. I'd like to see 'Hysterical' (1983).
She also starred in John Bone's comedy 'Nudity Required' (1990) which teamed her with Troy Donahue who was a member of David DeCoteau and Fred Olen Ray's stock companies at the time. Newmar had worked on Ray's horror movie 'Deep Space' (1988) a couple of years earlier.
