Could these two superstar rivals actually contempate signing with a new rival promotion to WWE?
"All Elite Wrestling landing both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk would be among the most unprecedented moves in pro wrestling history. The column could end right there too. A promotion not named WWE giving wrestling fans more Daniel Bryan and the long wished-for Punk return—in the same calendar year, if not month—would be unparalleled in terms of scope given today's wrestling landscape. So with Bryan apparently on the way to AEW, according to Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Jason Ounpraseuth of Wrestling Inc), in part because of its relationship with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Punk in talks, according to Fightful (h/t Wrestling Inc's Joshua Gagnon), fans just entered a we're-living-history moment."

I wouldn't doubt it. These rumors are becoming so heavy, it almost sounds like they've been confirmed to be true. CM Punk said negotiations with AEW didn't go over well in the past, but maybe he tried again. I suppose he would find himself more at home there than working for WWE after his fallout with the company. Daniel Bryan would fit in too since AEW is all about giving opportunities, and Daniel Bryan embodies what the wrestling fans these days get out of the underdog. The hardcore fans are in for a real treat if the rumors of these two joining AEW are true.
On another note, I have to wonder if AJ Lee would ever be willing to follow CM Punk over to AEW if he ever goes there. She's retired but her reputation as a wrestler is about the same as her husband's, so she'd be welcomed with open arms.

They'd bring some more big star power to AEW, but it might come at the cost of building up some of their own stars. AEW needs to think about that as well. They can't just depend on WWE guys.

Oh man, who wouldn't want to see AJ Lee back in action. Just don't tell her she's "crazy"!

As a fan of wrestling, I'd have to say, with regard to Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, I don't want them taking the tag team spots as the teams in AEW are actual teams, and the mens' tag division is as strong as I recall seeing. Don't want no superstar prima donnas derailing match talks, stalling, or welding together last minute wedding demands. I want Best Friends to secure their first tag belts when Trent Beretta hopefully returns healthy and wise from undergoing his latest challenging surgery (this time, neck fusion). I also hope to see young Jurassic Express win the title somewhere down the road, but FTR have come and usurped both teams, slotting in right behind the Young Bucks which I didn't like seeing.
Darby Allin is already a champion and Chris Jericho has Sammy Guevara's back, so I don't see these guys falling out the title picture any time soon. I still suspect some of the ex-WWE marquee names like Big Show and Mark Henry have primarily come to commentate, or to train and advise, which could be a tremendous asset to the company. Sports have always worked that way, with former professionals going into coaching.
Wrestlers like Jon Moxley, Jake Hager, Shawn Spears, Pac, Miro, Andrade El Idolo and Alesiter Black I count out, as they are still 40 years of age or under, not exactly in their prime, but still in fighting shape. Plus, were any of them really given their due at WWE?
Bona fide tag legends Christian Cage and Big Money Matt Hardy remain worthy opponents in singles competition and they are formidable technicians in the ring. Neither wrestler seems to have used his ego and industry clout to try and force-feed a contractual championship down the AEW fans' throats, which is terrific to witness. In fact, far from it with these two veterans, as far as I can tell.
But, can wrestling fans honestly expect this from storied wrestling icons of the magnitude of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk? These guys still get their backsides kissed by Jim Cornette on a regular basis which tells you all you need to know. Daniel Bryan was reminded by Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens of his indie roots in the last few years at WWE, and CM Punk is a global brand and the best in the world, so where do you go from there? AEW won't have the strength to send them both to IMPACT! to face Zack "woo woo woo" Ryder, Curt '0-269' Hawkins, Heath "I got kids!" Slater and EC3 if they turn diva, so how much power could they cede from the company without compromising its original vision?
'On April 25, 2019, Tony Khan revealed the five year plan for AEW where he stated:
The 5-year plan for AEW is firstly, to have built up a brand, secondly to have built up a roster and thirdly, to have established AEW as a top brand in wrestling for an audience who desire fast-paced exciting action and want a product that is more of a sporting based product.'

AEW Entry : All-Star Cowboy Community Vs Elite Basketball Professional All-Star Squad
Kenny Omega is an awesome champion. The great pretender, Orange Cassidy, should be first in line for his crown, with Pac also in contention based upon current form. Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Absolute Ricky Starks, MJF, Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt, 'Hangman' Adam Page, 'All Ego' Ethan Page, 'Bad Boy' Joey Janela, Sonny Kiss are all relatively young and hungry for success. I understand Bryan and Punk aren't window dressing at 40 and 42 years of age respectively, but they have to be made to work for everything if they sign on the dotted line, if only to protect the integrity of the brand. Work like the 'Murderhawk Monster' Lance Archer who's only just secured a belt in AEW at the age of 44, and it's an outside title coming in.
Perhaps Bryan's first match should be against Bad Billy Gunn, while CM Punk could be handed a date with Big Colt Cabana and the Dark Order. Punish these guys hard for joining the company, see how much they can take on a weekly basis. If they come through, expect Punk to be courted by Darby Allin with the Big Stinger in tow, while Bryan gets unceremoniously smothered in the Walls of Jericho.

I've not listened to it yet, but I've heard Jim Cornette fans are reeling over comments he's made regarding CM Punk's return to Chicago, Illinois at an All Elite Wrestling event. I'll have to have a listen when I have time, hopefully tomorrow.
CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!
But here's a stark warning to those coming in from Jon Moxley, who's had to fight for everything his whole career. Amy superstars who think they can waltz right in and collect belts without a fight has another thing coming.
A message to the uninitiated

^ Yup, Jim Cornette enjoyed CM Punk's return and the fans are happy about it. His return was probably the biggest moment in AEW's history so far aside from Dynamite's debut judging by the ratings. I enjoyed his return, though his suggestion for a dream match with Darby Allen wasn't really what I had in mind. Personally, i'd rather see him go against Sting even though he's older now(he did pretty well in a recent match), followed by a match with Malakai Black, Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, MJF, and I guess Cody Rhodes.

AEW making traction with these headlines isn't entirely about WWE losing fans.
It's nearly as much about former WWE fans, like myself, re-invigorated to once more pay attention.

I think a match with Sting is definitely on the cards because the Stinger is joined at the hip with Darby Allin. He almost clashed with Eddie Kingston outside the ring recently and has gotten involved in some of Allin's matches as protection.
