Also, I missed out your "cannon fodder" remark in my previous reply... Well it was either be cannon fodder or alien food in the future anyway. What exactly did throwing ordinary people at the Aliens accomplish anyway, other than their deaths? Don't say it delayed them enough for the poison to be made - why couldn't the poison, or whatever it was, have been made in the past since they then knew everything that was needed to make it? They didn't know they could not defeat the aliens. And when they ran out of future military personnel to fight the aliens, they didn't give up. So they went back to the past to get more fighters. You know in hindsight what worked and what didn't. They didn't know. They were just trying everything and anything to defeat the aliens. Or at least, slow down the aliens from wiping out the humans. And, nobody in the past knew about the poison until the Chris Pratt character came back and gave it to them. The time portal didn't go back any further than when the Chris Pratt character first witnessed the fighters from the future arrive in the football game. They said in the movie, the time portal didn't work that well.

The time travel machine only works forward and backwards to the point of when it was built and then forwards. They couldn't have travelled to the time before aliens crashed. They needed to take the poison not the cure back to be mass produced because they didn't have enough time in the future to mass produce it, you know the end of the world was happening and all that. If it can travel forward then why can't it take them to the time just before the aliens landed? It can't choose the date to travel to. This was explained in the movie. It only allowed travel from the current day in the future to the same day 30 years prior and vice versa. No in between dates. No going back a few days earlier or a few years later.

I wasn't clear about that.

An interview with cast member Edwin Hodge: Earlier today, we spoke to Hodge about his roles as Mister Terrific and the villainous Killer Croc in Injustice and asked if he's excited to return to The Tomorrow War franchise. "It’s still early days on my end. You know, if everything does come to fruition, I definitely would be excited to go back." "I think The Tomorrow War stood out on its own as an alien sci-fi film and I thought audiences, as far as the comments and so forth were concerned, did love it and appreciate it," Hodge continued. "It would be amazing to come back for a second film and reprise my character of Dorian." The Tomorrow War came out at a time when theaters looked to be on their last legs and proved that there's a huge streaming audience for blockbusters that premiere at home. When he mentioned the massive audience the movie was able to draw, Hodge shared his take on that. "It did and it does feel great. We hope, when we’re filming these projects, that we’re able to reach the masses and when it does, that it’s received well." "From the start of this project, it was an adventure and it was fun. The cast and crew were amazing. They made the process of filming highly enjoyable and made it so that I would love to come back for a second film [Laughs]," he noted. "The success of films today is a lot different to what it was two years ago, three years ago, or even five years ago. To be able to still hit a marquee market during the summer and have this popular film, it definitely feels like an accomplishment." www.comicbookmovie.com/sci-fi/the-tomorrow-war-star-edwin-hodge-talks-planned-sequel-and-finding-success-on-streaming-exclusive-a188837#gs.df86yp
