Which decade of the 20th century do you think had the best car styling?

This is tough, since I've seen a lot of good ones from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s! I'd lean towards either the 60s or 70s as my fav decade, but I'd need to further review a lot of car designs, to make a final poll decision.

50's too much form. 70's too much function. The 60's were a perfect blending of the two.

For me its an overlap decade. Cars looked there best from 1964 to 74. The worst was the late 70's to mid 80's "box" decade. The box cars lasted longer in Japan. Toyota got rid of the box cars in the early 90's.

Style-wise (if I was rolling in cash'ola) the high-end cars of the 30's like Duesenberg had it going on- (google and try to deny it).
But all my favorite cars are in the 60's...Steve McQueen's 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback in Bullitt says it all for me.

1950s and 1930s are glorious decades for cars. I don't even drive or have a driver's license (::gasp: , but those cars are so pretty. They're like art pieces. The 1970s-1980s were full of hideous box monstrosities. When you see a really fugly car on the road, it's often noticeably from the '80s. And everything after that is just so... generic. Although a lot less boxy in an ugly way, still cookie-cutter samey with almost every brand having pretty much the same boring look. Old school ones were far more distinguishable. While not as advanced, they gave off an air of being luxurious and classy. Even beyond the more high-end brands, I have a real fondness for the Model A. It's one of my all-time favorites. And I don't otherwise like cars much.

That's a tough one, but I'm gonna have to lean towards the 1950s since my uncle once owned a red 1957 Chevy Bel Air, I believe.
I grew up in the '80s and '90s. Those vehicles were rather bland, with the exception of a few like the DeLorean and the Mustang from Knight Rider (1982).
I remember my grandfather owned and drove a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis up until he could no longer could. That car was like a boat. It also had terrible MPG.
It was all about luxury back in the 1980s and safety in the 1990s. That's probably one of the reasons why vehicles back then weren't sleek.

Hondas in the mid-1990s look very similar to the ones being sold today, in my view.
The style changed around 1994, I think.
