Just finished the Volokhonsky/Pevear translation. Could not put it down for the final few chapters.
I liked it more than his other 'big ones', but I liked them all. (Haven't read Volokhonsky/Pevear translation of 'The Idiot' yet.)
Hard to stop thinking about it.

It's been a while, but I loved it back in the day. Perhaps my favourite of his big novels. Tragic but also surprisingly funny at times.

This was the first book by Dostoyevsky i read about 20 years ago. I rank it as the as the fifth best Dostoyevsky book.
It pretty much established Dostoyevsky as my favorite author.
The books by Dostoyevsky i would rank above Demons are The Gambler, The Idiot, Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov.
