Just found out about this movie, a Shudder original this morning. From the trailer I think it looks like a good'un. 🐙
Has anyone seen it? Please share your thoughts on it good or bad.
I have not watched any of Shudder's output except the Creepshow series. I want to buy Boar and now The Beach House for October.

I've seen it a few times now and really like it. I wouldn't describe it as a particularly scary horror movie, but both times I've watched it I've just had this genuine feeling of unease and unknowing. Tonally you could compare it to movies like Night of the Living Dead, or It Follows, though it never really climaxes like those films. But what I mean is a movie where it feels like there's no escape, these characters are doomed from the second the movie starts and that the source of the horror of the movie is directly tied to its social commentary. Another thing I like about the movie is how it feels like a generational tale, how two different generations respond to situations. I also think it has one of my favorite final shots of any horror movie. It's one I'll return to every few years.

Looks interesting despite the extremely generic trailer format. I remember people talking about this movie and The Rental at around the same time and I kinda got them mixed up.

It has a foreboding tone throughout. Everyone is doomed. The science of it makes it seem even creepier.
