Not to be cruel, but are people clamoring for her specifically to return?
Why wouldn't they? Compared to Zendaya it's perfectly understandable.

Why wouldn't they? Compared to Zendaya it's perfectly understandable. Zendaya isn’t even playing MJ. Her character’s name was Michelle Jones. She even explained that her friends called her MJ. She’s NOT Mary Jane. Mary Jane could still come in later, but she’ll most likely just go by Mary Jane. Zendaya is a good Michelle, but if Marvel is really trying to get me to believe that she’s supposed to be THE MJ then they can fuck off. Marvel may try to say that this is the modern MJ, but the MJ I know was an actress, not a book nerd, not someone who was mopey and not woke. Zendaya could have made a great Mary Jane, but clearly that’s not what Marvel wanted to do with Zendaya.

Regardless of whether she's MJ or not she's still Spiderman's love interest although at times she's more Spiderman's boyfriend than girlfriend.

Yes and the fact she looks taller than Tom doesn't help. It's actually Tom's reaction to whenever they're sharing a scene together too.

I’m still confused on what the reason behind “MJ’s” change was. Was it more believable if they made her a nerd? I actually found it more believable that Peter was the nerd and MJ was this drop dead gorgeous girl that Peter swooned over. I mean Zendaya’s MJ is certainly still doable, but not in the way that Kirsten Dunst’s was. They still could have done that with Zendaya’s MJ and Marvel chose not to. Zendaya could of pulled off Mary Jane in her sleep.

Not necessarily, but it’d be nice to confirm that she married Peter and give us a little closure on that relationship.

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME has all the fan service we've been expecting, but it's not as funny as HOMECOMING and FAR FROM HOME. During the final battle, the title character asks Dr. Strange to cast a spell to make everyone forget who Peter Parker is (but not who Spider-Man is) in order to save the multi-verse. Here's the problem: During the first act, Strange had already tried to cast it, but Peter kept mentioning the names of people he wanted to not be affected by the magic. The spell went wrong and that's why the multi-verse got in danger in the first place. OK, but it's because Strange couldn't concentrate, not because his magic wouldn't be able to make exceptions. Therefore, there's no reason why he couldn't add those conditions during the second attempt. It comes off as an excuse to show a heroic sacrifice, but if the hero doesn't actually have to sacrifice anything, there's no dramatic weight. Also, memories are erased, but the past isn't changed in any way. This makes no sense, considering the events that wouldn't have happened had it not been for Peter (unmasked)! For example, Happy Hogan remembers his relationship with Aunt May. How does he think he met her?! And there's no indication that the spell erased physical evidence that would make people remember Peter. There's a scene where the Green Goblin mask is broken and I think it's because many viewers don't like its design (something I don't personally agree with). Was there no other way to execute this moment than to have Norman Osborn swing a rock?! Literally once?! Oscorp has so much advanced technology, yet the material is fragile like glass?! Flash Thompson (Peter's douchy classmate) publishes a book where he falsely claims to be Peter's friend. A while later, he gets into M.I.T. while Peter and his friends don't, due to all the bad publicity. Wait, then why wasn't Flash's application rejected too? Speaking of Peter's friends, Ned Leeds asks Tobey Maguire's version of Peter if he has a best friend. He replies "I did. He died in my arms... after he tried to kill me." Why are the important details omitted (Harry Osborn turned good and he died protecting Peter)? Because the focus is on Ned's shock. I guess humor has to be prioritized over logic? 7/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.Zendaya’s MJ is certainly still doable, but not in the way that Kirsten Dunst’s was. Whoa! What is wrong with you?!
