Well, it's 2018.
I'll watch it, though that fourth season was hard to get through. It wasn't bad, it's just that the characters work better together than separated.

I loved the original run, still haven't even seen Season 4.

Season 4 was pretty bad i think. At least compared to season 1-3.
I probably give season 5 a try.

My thoughts were the same as season 4: Funny at times but forgettable. Also, seeing MAYBE still act the same way after 15 years (you know what I mean) has gotten depressive. I know the show isn't really about progress (hence the show's title), but seasons 1 to 3 made it seem like the storyline of GEORGE MICHAEL's crush was going somewhere. The past 2 seasons it has been acknowledged and... that's it.

What is this nonsense about splitting a season in half and releasing them months apart that so many shows have been doing for so many years (specially on Netflix)? They're different seasons! Call them that! Anyway, I saw season 5B 6. Man, the stories haven't been interesting for a while. Partly because there are no goals anymore. In the first couple of seasons, the BLUTHS tried to recover from the money problems and GEORGE tried to escape from the law. These revival seasons do have storyarcs, but everything feels too momentary. Things that they live through in the present (mostly plans for new businesses and deals). It's not as meaningful. MICHAEL, despite being the protagonist, barely did anything. Even his straight man routine doesn't work because he doesn't seem invested enough to want to make deadpan sarcastic remarks. And just because his son is an adult doesn't mean he won't want to give fatherly advice like usual. MAYBE being the smartest family member was funny because she was a teenager, but now Alia Shawkat is in her early 30s. Also, Will Arnett and Tony Hale are pushing 50, so seeing GOB & BUSTER act like children isn't funny. If anything, it's sad. Even things like the GENE PARMESAN gag have lost their spark. The idea is that he reveals himself and we hear LUCILLE yelling off-screen briefly until the camera points at her. This time, it's filmed, edited and performed in a much slower way. Jessica Walter doesn't seem to have the energy to truly screech.
Oh, and BUSTER is a murderer. Do I even have to elaborate on what's wrong with this?
