This season is only interesting because its all a damn coma dream ( and a ripoff of The Sopranos coma dreams) . Other than that- this really stinks. This show used to be great. but now I am so bored. They keep jumping the shark. First they were in ISIS, then the CIA-okay that was fine and all but then it went so downhill last season when they were Private Eyes. Now a damn coma dream. Archer was one of the best shows ever. Funny as hell and damn interesting. Now they pissed this potential all away.

It does feel like they wasted an entire season. My biggest complaint this season isn't that it's a coma dream. I'm a huge film noir fan so I actually have enjoyed the setting and for what it's worth the noir nods and references have been spot on.
I do take issue with there being so few laughs though. Where are the hilarious moments we have come to expect? Much of it seems to be played straight. Also Lana is really annoying this season as is Pam. If we FINALLY get to see the hateful malicious Mallory get some much deserved comeuppance though, it will make the wasted season worth it. To me she is by far the most evil character including the villains and we have never seen her get what she deserves once. Every other character has been injured countless times but the hateful racist shrew always comes out on top. I want to see coma dream Mallory brutally murdered.
By the way coma dreams were around long before The Soprano's did it.

I think i laughed once all last season when there private eyes. The jokes are gone. Its just stupid and boring now. Older episodes like The Honeymooners archer.wikia.com/wiki/The_Honeymooners were awesome. Thank God Netflix has reruns. Now zero gags. Who cares if Archer is freaking imaginging hes a 1950s PI/Cop/whatever?! I dont care!

Completely disagree. I love that the show reinvents itself every once in a while to avoid staleness. While I do agree that it isn't as funny as it used to be, there are still some great moments.

It feels like the writers were so focused on getting the noir feel so perfect they neglected the jokes this season. Like I said they references and film noir aura were spot on but I really missed the humor. I agree with you about reinventing itself though. I like the Archer Vice season which for some reason upset a lot of fans. Although they didn't learn that too much Pam is a very bad thing since they have overused her again this season.

Thats the problem. Last season and this season- only a couple good jokes-TOTAL.. The first few seasons of Archer were a damn laugh-a-thon

Its a comedy. You admit it isn't as funny as it was. Jokes are the point of the show. Sometimes change can be a bad thing. They dwell on this and neglect the entertainment factor. What was so exciting or funny about Archer & co as private eyes? Nothing happened? 10 episodes and the only thing that happened was Archer got shot... and it was in the finale. Whoopee! Change can be a good thing but they went off the deep end here. I liked the change when they had Archer Vice. They went from ISIS to selling coke -- back to the CIA supervised private agency. That made sense. It went one direction and eventually came back to the beginning. And that entire season was fun to watch. Alot of jokes and lots of suspense.

To clarify I still think it's a very funny show. Not as funny as before, maybe, but that's a high standard for a show now in its eighth season. And I liked the whole Veronica Deane story line, especially the hostage 2 parter.

Frisky Dingo is still a funnier show The worst episode of Archer is infinitely better than the best episode of Frisky Dingo. Unless you find homoerotic animation hilarious maybe.

I'm still liking the show although it's a little TOO violent for my liking. Also, why is Archer dreaming Pam as a man? Very bizarre, considering that he's had sex with her at least three times. I figured they would be dropping the I.S.I.S. name because of recent historical events. Another thing: why no dedication to the late George Coe, the voice of Woodhouse? It's nice they worked Woodhouse's death into the storyline, but there should be some sort of tribute to the actor who portrayed him.

This coma dream of Archer a 1950s PI is just so boring now. Their ratings are in the toilet the last 2 seasons en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Archer_episodes#Season_7_.282016.29Ever since the premiere of season 7, There has been less than 1 million US viewers. Season 8 has really fallen. The average of half a million viewers so far the is season. They really should have stayed with the ISIS story line( or at least the CIA).

I'm a huge fan of the show, and I'm not a fan of much TV in general. But, this season? It simply reeks. REEKS on freakin' ice.

Just one episode left, so good news for people who are hating it, I suppose.
