I’ve asked this question a few places, haven’t gotten any kind of answer so far.

So:

I have distinct memories of Ghost Hunters episodes, but I don’t know if they come from one, two, or three episodes.

First memory: “Lead investigators” Jason and Grant are investigating a staircase—I think in a private residence. There’s a door at the top of the steps. Every time they look away, the door closes. The camera at one point shows the door closing on its own. Jason and Grant try to figure out if the door is on an angle that makes it close. I think the kicker is it’s actually angled the opposite way.

Second memory: Jason and Grant are at opposite ends of a staircase and the guy at the top hears a noise coming from the bottom and the guy at the bottom hears a noise coming from the top. (Of course neither of them is making a sound.)

Third memory: One of the team, I think Kris Williams, puts down flour in an attic and then locks the door; when everyone returns, there are footprints in the flour.

Anyone know what any or all of these are? Yes, I know Ghost Hunters is a silly show (though I’ve always kinda liked it, certainly more so than every other paranormal-investigation show), but these memories are like an itch I haven’t been able to scratch. Any help greatly appreciated.

Wow... I wish I had seen this post a few days ago...

Since it's Halloween time, I've been re-watching some of the episodes of "Ghost Hunters"/"Ghost Hunters International" I have on DVD...

I would have been looking out for these scenes, and paying attention...

I don't remember this from the show...

But I just saw one where Jay and Grant put some flour on the floor of an attic and got some foot prints... It was either in Season 5.. or Early Season 7... I guess Kris Williams would have done this later on... I'm working my way through Seasons 7 through most of Season 9... I'm still on Season 7. I'll keep my eye out for that and get back with you...

I can't remember this one, or when that would have been... If it is in the later seasons, 7 through 9, I'll keep an eye out for it...

Again, this one doesn't ring a bell for me...

But they did have a similar experience in Early Season 7, when they investigated an old Jail or US Mint (I Think), where Grant was on one level, and Jay was on the one above, and there was floor grating between them, and they could talk to each other... and they heard sounds between the two floors...

Could that be what you are thinking of?

Yes, I know Ghost Hunters is a silly show (though I’ve always kinda liked it, certainly more so than every other paranormal-investigation show)

I don't think it's a silly show... I actually believe that there is something genuine to the paranormal phenomenon...

I'm not always 100% convinced that everything about the show is truly genuine, and there have been a few times over the years where they have been accused of faking a few things here or there...

But I do believe that most of what is presented is real... and yes, the The Ghost Hunters Franchise of shows have been the best ones that I have ever seen, because they try to debunk what they catch, and when they can't then they label it paranormal... Many other shows, just instantly assume that everything else they get, is paranormal. And it's not. Orb photos for one. Dust and Rain Drops are not Ghosts. If you can't prove to me that Dust and Rain Drops are not in your photos, then don't even bother showing it to me. LOL!

Ghost Hunters have presented several pieces of evidence over the years, that I don't think can be explained any other way, unless it is paranormal.

And to be clear... Paranormal, does not me dead people living in the Afterlife. Many people believe in Residual Hauntings, where something gets recorded into the environment, and then get's played back. Scientists believe that such things are possible, and this may explain much of what people are seeing and experiencing...

But still, there are some things, which still can't be explained AS OF YET BY SCIENCE, unless Ghosts are real...

That's still Paranormal... Beyond Normal, ETC...

Do you remember that instance, where Jay and Grant were walking across a field during a cold night when the Thermal Imaging Camera caught what appeared to be a figure walking across their path, right in front of them, and they never heard or saw anything?

I like what Grant basically said... "It makes you wonder what else is going on around us that we can't see..."

Perhaps, right now, several spirits are standing right next to us, staring at us, as we are writing and reading these posts?

Just saw the episode in Early Season 7

The team is investigating an old asylum, and they are interviewing Candy, who says that a spirit has told her, "I Love You."

Grant says, "Oh, that's not scary at all..."... And looks away with a funny expression on his face. Jay looks over at him, with this WTF expression on his face.

Totally LOL! Moment.

Earlier another employee was talking about an encounter he had with a spirit which said something to him like "YoooUUU!"

I couldn't help but think about some new horror movie... Involving a scared Candy being chased through the Asylum by her dead zombie boyfriend shouting "I... Love... YoooUUU!..." with "I... Love... YoooUUU!..." echoing throughout the empty halls...

ROTFWIL!

The shows definitely had many spooky moments, and some funny ones too...

"I... Love... YoooUUU!..."

"Dude, Run!"

Sounds like an episode of 'Scooby Doo' ...

First and second memories may be the Isles of Shoals episode, which I recently rewatched thanks to Amazon Prime’s having season 5-7 for free (why only 5-7 I have no idea). It’s similar to what I remember, though you don’t see the door closing.

Now that reminded me of yet another door-closes-on-its-own episode, this one with (I think) a small door in a child’s room. Does that ring a bell?

I agree with you that Ghost Hunters of all paranormal shows is the most likely to be real. When they want to debunk something, they go all-in on it—notably in the episode on that California restaurant where the owners rigged up haunted-house gimmicks, in which Jay and Grant seemed genuinely pissed. Nonetheless, I just don’t know if I believe in ghosts… I want to, but I’m always coming up with non-paranormal explanations and can never quite take that leap of faith. Hélas.

As for the silliness—well, you have Steve and Tango, Ghost Hunters’ own Abbott and Costello!

I Re-Watched an episode in the middle of Season 4, where Jason invites a Ghost boy to come home with him...

And then he texts his wife, to tell her, he "might be bringing some-THING home with me tonight"...

Unfortunately, they don't show her reaction to that... But one can only imagine, that wasn't well received.

I just got done watching an episode... and I think... I've found these parts, and they both appear to be from the same episode:

"Star Island" Portsmouth, New Hampshire – Star Island .../... Gilford, New Hampshire – Kimball Castle March 18, 2009 N/A

TAPS go to Star Island, part of the Isles of Shoals off of Portsmouth, N.H., for a paranormal investigation.

It's the first case of the Episode, where they to Star Island... There are few buildings that they investigate there... And it's the cottage, that is called "The Island Museum".

The Stairs has at least one 90 degree turn in them, and at the landing, there is a door that goes into a small room called "The Vault", which contains some of the most valuable artifacts...

The Island curator called TAPS in to investigate, and she is the only one with keys to the vault... She leaves the keys with TAPS so they can do a full investigation of the cottage...

"Second memory":

Jay is in the Attic, and hears sounds coming from Downstairs... Grant is downstairs, and hears sounds coming from Upstairs...

They discover the noises are coming from "The Vault", the side room that is halfway between, which was locked, and so they get the keys to open the door... and they go in and investigate... Nothing is in there, and nothing happens while they are in there...

The room is very well constructed and "fire resistant", to protect the valuable artifacts... It's not likely that any animals could get in there.

"First memory":

Right after they leave "The Vault"... The door to the Attic, close on it's own... Nothing happens when they go up there to investigate, either... But they do have the Thermal Camera up there, pointed at the Attic door...

They leave to continue the rest of the investigation...

At the end of the investigation... One of their cameras focusing on A DIFFERENT DOOR, in one of the other buildings... Did open, and then closed 2 hours later...

They conclude, that it may have been the wind, that opened and closed THAT door...

They did capture audio of footsteps at the "The Island Museum"...

The Thermal Camera, set up in the Attic, did capture the Attic Door, "OPENING", but, for some reason they dismissed it, and didn't tell the client about it... (Perhaps, because the Thermal Camera couldn't see the other side of the door, and they couldn't be sure what happened to "OPEN" it?)

I... am a bit confused by what you are talking about here...

I didn't see any scenes where Jason and Grant were trying to understand why ANY doors were opening or closing... They did correct Dave Tango, about what he saw in the Thermal Footage involving the Attic Door, though... Dave thought it CLOSED, but it actually OPENED, seemingly on it's own... Sadly, the Camera could not see the other side of the door.

But, In regards to the entire investigation, it was discovered that there was a set of stairs, in ONE OF THE BUILDINGS, NOT the stairs going to "The Vault", that had major issues where every step was angled differently...

Could you be a bit confused, and combining these two things, as one event?

Kris Williams was with TAPS, from Season THREE through Season SEVEN, (2007–2011), before going to GHI...

I've re-watched many of those episodes, so far, BUT NOT ALL... started with many episodes from her later time on the show... and, now I have gone back to when she joined the team...

She hasn't done that, YET, But, I am still re-watching episodes from the Early part of Season 5... I believe that when she does this, may happen soon...

I'll try to keep an eye out for it, and let you know... IF AND WHEN... I track it down.

MCDemuth, I was going through my old threads and found this one. I must not have seen your response or something—but apologies for not responding a year and a half (!) ago.

Unfortunately, Prime took Ghost Hunters off its platform, so I can’t watch the show anymore except in terrible prints on Dailymotion.

I do think one of the episodes I was remembering was, as you said, Star Island (where, incidentally, I’ve been). I wasn’t able to find the Kris-Williams-sprinkling-flour ep or the one with the door opening in the child’s room.
