I’ll wait and watch this at home. I have usually gone to see Bond movies in theatres but since I was carried semi-comatose out of the last Avengers movie, am only willing to sit down for three hours if it’s something truly unmissable. Having said that, I have tickets for the three hour Drive My Car next week…

You going to a cinema unprepared for something you paid for and I assumed you read up on is ridiculous.

It was a group viewing with a bunch of friends, back in the days when we could go to the cinema in groups of more than three. I didn’t read up but thought it would be watchable enough like it’s predecessors. But it wasn’t, it was mind-numbing. The semi-comatose thing was an exaggeration, I admit.

Wait, wasn't Spectre 7 hours long? But it has the opening tracking one-shot so it’s good!

You paying for something or not paying for something doesn't make the idea of you not doing any research on the running time of a movie any less hilarious. You using your friends as a personal ATM machine is on them, they're your friends not your parents.

I don’t see why it’s amusing but glad you got a laugh out of it.

This was kind of my fear. Not that I'm hesitant to watch a nearly 3 hour long 007 movie, but because I know with that run time it's going to continue in the direction of Spectre trying to tie every last thing together.

It was heading in that direction with the trailers hyping it as the culmination of Daniel Craig's tenure. Anyway, the film's runtime is arbitrary; it's the pacing that really matters. $900 million dollars. Did they reshoot the movie twice or something! ? Jesus. Pushing the release dates back multiple times drove up the marketing costs.

James Bond movies don't need to be that long.

Works for me... More bang for the buck! (I think Fukunaga was an inspired choice for director, and he'll deliver something interesting.)

I can't see it making 900 million. I think before the pandemic it could have, but right now I don't see it. If it makes 700 million I think it'll be very lucky.
