Religion can be used to justify anything! That’s one of the problems with it.

That's not his wife. He's just testing for freshness. But seriously, folks... What's she supposed to do? Squeeze the can?

Just as with anything else, all religions have their fair share of nutbags, but the basic objective of all them is eternal joy. They just disagree about the method. Islam says you must gain favor with God whereas Christianity says you already have it. In my opinion, the most problematic difference between them is the rules of engagement regarding infidels. One says they're your enemy if they don't convert; the other says just move on if they don't accept it but love them anyway and pray they find their way.

The only reason Christianity doesn't force conversions these days is because secular governments won't allow it. In the "good old days" the Spanish Inquisition put many thousands of infidels to death. I've no doubt that Dominionists would love to see a return to these medieval ways.

There are Christian preachers who say the same thing. 'Submit to your husbands': Women told to endure domestic violence in the name of God
Actually, the husband is not SUPPOSED to beat his wife. He is to LOVE HER IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY THAT CHRIST LOVES HIS CHURCH; BY LAYING DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HER.

But Islam doesn't promote wife beating any more than Christianity does.
Sure, some "Christian" idiot could murder his wife and justify it by an adulteress being stoned in the Bible.
But it's disingenuous to say most Muslims or Christians advocate wife beating.
I'm very pleased to hear it.

Catholicism harbors a lot of those nutbags I mentioned. Thanks for the underscore. "shake off the dust of your feet"

That "fear" that you are promoting is just that, an irrational fear of Catholics. That makes it easier to marginalize all Catholics and treat them like dirt.

The Inquisitions (Spanish, Portuguese, and Roman) - no doubt the nastiest stain on the history of Christianity - was established and perpetuated by Catholic Monarchs to ferret out heretics. js

So gameboy, can you share any videos of any Christian clergymen (be they Protestant ministers; Catholic or Orthodox priests, etc)promoting wife beating?
