To this day, I remember an episode where Wheeler has a dream about the rat people. On their planet, the population exploded. They didn’t have enough resources and food, shelter, etc… to survive. As their planet is dying, and they are dying he says to Wheeler “Don’t let this happen to your planet” Wheeler wakes up in a panic.
At the end of the episode, Captain Planet says “overpopulation is becoming a threat to our planet. When you grow up, try to limit your family to one child per household.” That stuck with me until this day. Haha

It was my introduction to the concept of recycling. We didn't recycle nearly as much back in the early 90s. Not nearly as much.

I was too old for this show when it came out but I do remember thinking the kid that had “heart” power was probably a ‘tard.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this show had some funding coming from PRC China investors.
