Of course!!!! Read St. Matthew chapter 16, verse 19. The Papacy goes all the way back to St. Peter the Apostle.

That depends on who you ask. According to someone who is Catholic, of course. According to a Jehovah's Witness, no.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah's_Witnesses Read the first sentence in its description. How could they be Christian, if they espouse beliefs that are distinct from mainstream Christianity?

I know that the JW are far from mainstream Christians, but they think that they are the true Christians who follow the teachings of the disciples. At the same time, the Catholic Church has condemned the JW as heretical.

Yes, anyone who believes in the divinity of Jesus is a Christian. Trying to argue otherwise is just a No True Scottsman fallacy.

The true Christians were the ones who followed Jesus in his day and later the ones who learned about him from various texts and oral tradition. By the time the Roman Empire got a hold of it, everything got turned around and inverted. The Jesus proclaimed by preachers and theologians today had no existence.

Your statement might be valid if the trinity was established as doctrine in the New Testament. But it is not. Yes it is. St. Matthew chapter 16, verse 19.

Do Catholics generally accept non Catholics as true Christians? I certainly do. But me being a Christian is much more important to me than being a Catholic one in particular.

Walk into any Baptist Book Store in the South... Plenty of tomes on the shelves explaining why the Catholic Church is a Satanic abomination and that no "Papist" can be a true Christian.
