if god had never been reborn
if i had never heard the words, those prophecies of the absurd. if my beloved mom and dad, had taken sunday’s for a shag.
instead of driving me to church, would i be better off or worse? than having to explain to those who still insist that i impose; my narrow-minded view on life, i'm not the one proposing strife.
for my vision has been fine-tuned; by stepping back outside the room, where god's enshrined immunity, is glorified in faithful glee. by those who still insist it's true. why else would they do what they do? if not for some great noble cause: saving the masses from themselves.
for every generation since the holy book was first in print, insists that god is real you see, for god would never lie to me.
but every generation knows that when a boy is left alone, his thoughts are never heaven-bound, with feet entrenched on firmer ground. so every generation hence: proclaims of god's omnipotence, and faithfully instills with fright the hell of unbeliever's plight.
that's why i wonder just how much, this god would fade into the dust. if no one wore a crown of thorn, if god had never been reborn.
sjw 09/02/09 inspired at this very moment in time by so many hearts of bold design and grand illusion.
