Upgrading from the 27th ranked QB in the league and a guy who has thrown the most interceptions since he came into the league in 2018? Wouldn't seem difficult to do. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports it "seems likely" the Browns will "decide to upgrade" at quarterback this offseason. Longtime beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot has crystallized some of the recent rumors and innuendo surrounding Baker Mayfield and coach Kevin Stefanski's relationship, reporting that "Mayfield’s issues with Stefanski bubbled below the surface most of the season," and that Mayfield apparently believes "Stefanski’s play-calling didn’t always put him in position to succeed or play to his strengths." Mayfield is correct he is piloting a run-first offense. It is less clear what strengths he believes are being under-utilized. Playing through a variety of injuries and clearly nowhere close to 100 percent, Mayfield was a liability for Cleveland's 2021 offense, one that had to be schemed around. He is probably better than the player he showed this season, though not by orders of magnitude. Stefanski's diplomatic response to the reported issues can be found in the linked article, but it is certainly seeming like both sides are ready to try something new. Someone would probably be willing to take the trade plunge on the one year and $18.8 million remaining on Mayfield's deal.
SOURCE: Cleveland Plain Dealer Jan 6, 2022, 11:17 AM ETI admire and respect Baker even moreso today knowing all the injuries he tried to play through this year and tough it out
What a Warrior
He's tough. He's also immature, a distraction, and bad at playing quarterback. But he's tough - - that's a step up from Johnny Manziel.

The Steelers will be looking for a new QB this time next week, right? The corpse of Ben Roethlisberger had a better QB rating than Mayfield this year. Mason Rudolph will make one-sixth of the salary that Mayfield will next year . . . and Mayfield ain't anywhere close to six times better than Mason Rudolph. This stuff creeps up on you - I was laughing at Wentzy one day, the next he’s my team’s starting QB.

Deebo Samuel said it felt like a home game for the Niners at SoFi. “I feel like the Rams pump noise because there wasn’t that many Rams fans there.”
injured Niners right tackle Mike McGlinchey "Rams using silent count in their home stadium. Faithful in full force!"
Matthew Stafford basically confirmed this was the case for the offense, calling the home game “a tough environment for us to communicate in”

Tom Brady states they're going to have to play their best game of the year and the Eagles are the toughest opponent they've faced all year -
I love guys like this who premeditatedly and craftily plant seeds in everybody's heads before hand like - 'Hey folks - Don't be so shocked when we lay an egg lose to this team!' It's pretty much his out for when they lose 'See - I told ya!'

I get that he has to say something but this is just meaningless coachspeak; what is there to learn, exactly? That when you have a chance to make the playoffs by beating the worst team in the league, you should take it? That you shouldn't underestimate anyone in this league? That you need to turn up each and every week if you want to be a winner? This was the fourth year of his tenure, his players don't know these things already?

Have you never watched a Tom Brady pregame before? But I have forwarded your comments to him. Thanks for the BB material. Now it the Eagles lose, it will be all your fault.

The Broncos are trying to poach our Defensive Coordinator Jonathan Gannon as we're smack dab in the middle of our Super Bowl run.
I always found this classless and completely out of bounds.
It's like you know this other guy that's married - and you ask his wife out anyway.
Where's the line drawn? Maybe wait for the divorce?
