Not that i do that anyway. If i bought a recent book i wouldn't be embarrassed of course.

Depend id it's a book I want to own rather than just read.
I'd be embarrassed waste money on books I could read for free from the local library. But I'd be more embarrassed for reading a book I'd later found out was abridged.
