It's a great and brilliant "solo" superhero effort. Terrific action, great direction, Jackman on fire and the Japanese setting was wonderful. Having Viper and Silver Samurai (albeif if modified) was a huge plus.
I would have preferred to have Logan wearing a ninja suit or a costume in the final battle, but this is what we got.
I love this movie.
In terms of continuity, it is set in 2008 (Original Timeline). The Post-Last Stand X-Men had disbanded 2 years before or so, after facing Magneto again and again (as hinted by Wolverine in DOFP, on the plane). The post-credits scene is set in 2010. 13 years before the post-apocalyptic future.

It’s good until the third act. I’m sorry, but the final battle was terrible and Viper is a garbage character.
Act One is really fantastic though. I love the WW2 flashback with Logan getting nuked. And Hugh Jackman was terrific as usual.
Act Two is… fine. The setting is interesting and Logan losing his healing powers is compelling if not a bit cliched for this genre. The co-leads were very mediocre though. Yukio’s badass persona was very unearned and Mariko is flat out boring. Both are better than Aquafina’s character in Shang Chi though. I’ll say that much.

I liked it better than Logan tbh. The WW2 scene is a great opening and the bullet train fight is awesome. Yukio is a good sidekick but his romance with Mariko seemed rushed (I know it's canon). I actually don't mind the climax with the mecha samurai.

Well I would probably put it somewhere in the top 100 CB movies.

A character being better than Aquafina in Shang Chi isn't difficult.

The final battle was very comic book-ish, and in a good way. It was aggressive, well-directed an definitely cool. The "mecha" Silver Samurai was terrific.

Yeah this the movie was very solid until the ending which seemed like a different movie altogether. The change of setting, the giant samurai robot with a heat sword and the bald venom spitting woman brought it down unfortunately.

The third act resembled a Wolverine solo comic book more. The Silver Samurai mecha was astonishing.

It could’ve been fixed so easily too- have the old man steal Logan’s healing power earlier in the film. Maybe right before the start of the battle. Then you could simply have him in a regular sized silver samurai suit, plus the battle would actually have some substance as both the audience and Logan would actually know who he’s fighting.

I think the movie is marvellous the way it is.
Did you like the clothes that Logan wear? Too bad he did not wear any costume, ninja garb or special suit at the end.

I would’ve liked to see the yellow suit and mask, but it wouldn’t have fit this version. I’m hoping to see him wear it in the eventual reboot.
