I thought he was more of an expert on Halloween II. I seem to recall he said he would watch it every night at one point. Guy was clearly sick in the head, and lonely. I wasn't surprised that the board reacted to him the way they did, but it always gave me a slightly uneasy feeling just the same. The more time goes on, the more I'm glad (or at least perfectly fine) that the original IMDB boards are dead. He wasn't much of an expert on anything as it happened but yes, HALLOWEEN II (1981) was his favourite movie in the series and woe betide anyone who spoke ill of that movie! He still very much considered himself an authority on both of the first two movies though, not just the second one. Personally, I miss the boards. Although they came with a certain amount of baggage and personality clashes, they were still a fabulous community for movie-lovers to interact, learn and share their love of film together. I picked up so many great recommendations there, shared my insights and learned much from the insights of others. I had some wonderful discussions with many different users. Since they vanished, there has been nothing that remotely compares to them as a meeting place to discuss and share thoughts on all things celluloid. I miss elements of the old boards, but I think your experience was a lot different than mine. Aside from the individual film boards, I found the troll/asshole to informative/interesting commentator ratio to be disturbingly out of whack. This community is smaller and less active, but I find it a lot more pleasant. Would like to see it grow somehow, but I think message boards in 2021 are too much of a niche at this point. Letterboxd is nice too, just different in format and feel. Beats Facebook or Twitter though.

Ever since the boards departed I've been trying to fill the void with no success at all. Yes, CJ "the expert". There were times when I really hoped that he was just messing around with us because at times he was so ridiculous. But somebody on the forum posted a link to his facebook account and there he was having the same spats with family members that he was having with us.

I think a lot of peoole knew they could do what they wanted with little to no consequence. It was just so big.

Like, he was fighting with his family over Halloween II being superior to Halloween? I often wonder what happened to some of our more mentally ill "friends" from IMDB that didn't migrate over here. Did they move on, get help or was it all just a ruse? Did they get worse or let their toxicity spill over into the real world? Does anyone know where cj was on January 6th, 2021?

On his facebook it was mostly music. There was some talk about the television show Cheers. He was a major Cheers fan, and (big surprise) he was an expert on Cheers too. One of his family members called him an "opinion Nazi." It was pretty funny.

I miss the old boards, especially as each film or series had it's own mini forum which was a good way of getting other people's opinions on something you've just seen.

*major spoilers*
I can buy a group of Firefighters, a Mob, a small group in a Car, and two Couples at home etc. being taken out by Michael... But I cannot fathom Alyson and Cameron splitting up in Michael's home... That's just a level of "Scooby Doo" logic. Nor can I picture Karen casually going upstairs to Judith's room to have a moment after all that... Just stupid. Even by horror movie logic. Really took me out of the movie.
The others tho? They had no idea what Michael was capable of. At least not the Dr. and Nurse. Etc. They were not prepared. Or in the Gay couple's situation one was high and the other was a complete scaredy Cat. (Understandable.) But who the hell would buy a killer's childhood home? I was waiting for it to be revealed they were capitalizing on the notoriety somehow.
Odd couple (not because they were gay.) And I did like them. They were built up in a way unlike others.

I always felt it was obvious Bob was being funny. Not intending to actual involve an 8 yr old in their passionate lovemaking. It’s a pretty common form of humor, especially for a teenager.

The guitarist for The Waitresses owns Dahmer's childhood home, and Trent Reznor lived in the Sharon Tate murder house. The gay couple didn't seem like hardcore rockers, though. They must have just gotten a good deal on it.
