Here is something you might get a kick out of, depending on if you have seen the movie. The Wicker Man remake is so bad in just the right way that it almost becomes brilliant, and I still can't figure out if the movie is intentionally hilarious or not. I like the remake better as a bad movie than I like the original as a legit horror movie. Oh yeah, I've enjoyed that for it's absurdity. I think Nicolas Cage has since claimed that it was absurd on purpose, but I don't think I buy it. It feels like they were at least largely trying to be earnest, and Neil Lebute isn't really known as a comedic mind. Part of the reason I think it was intentional is because it is Neil Lebute. He started his career with one of the darkest comedies ever made. He has a very twisted sense of humor and it shows through in all of his movies imo, with the exception of Possession. A director like Neil Lebute doesn't have Nicolas Cage dress up like a bear and knock out women and steal their bicycles at gunpoint and not know that is going to be hilarious.

Final Destination - 8/10 Final Destination 2 - 7.5/10 Final Destination 3 - 7/10 Final Destination 5 - 7/10 The Final Destination - 5.5/10
The fourth one (the most hated one) is by far the most forgettable and least entertaining. It just feels so generic for some reason, I mean it has the same setup as the others but the characters and deaths and other events don't stand out. Something about it just doesn't click with me like 1-3 and 5.

Looking over his filmography, he did kinda do more comedy than I remembered, but his early films were more kinda sophisticated satires than they were absurdist comedies, and there seems to be no sophistication or intellect in The Wicker Man remake.. I think whatever the intent, it didn't hit the mark and just felt insanely dumb... and even if it was intended to be comedically absurd, what a bizarrely incorrect choice for that material. But still. Fun to watch...but moreso in clips on youtube than its full runtime.

I haven't kept up with this series since I found it pretty cheesey from the very beginning, but I just recorded the last one. I haven't seen either, but I thought most people liked The Final destination better than Final Destination 5. The Final Destination, as in #4? I haven't met a single soul who can say they even liked that one. It's so worthless. Just watched the 5th one. It was actually decent, and had mostly competent actors, solid production values, much better developed characters, and more plot motivation. It's amazing how even though these movies are all exactly the same thing there could be such a discrepancy in quality between the abysmal 4 and the adequate 5.
