"Too many boards" in terms of what? It's not like a textbook, where more pages means taking up more shelf space and being too heavy to hold or carry around comfortably. It's not like a brick-and-mortar store, where more choices of products means higher costs for inventory, staff, insurance, etc.
I'd bet the typical regular user will bookmark their favorite forums and never go back to the front page with all the listings, once they've gotten acquainted with the site. So for such a person (most of us), it won't matter how many categories are listed there.
But
you can't participate in a forum if you don't know it even exists. So for someone who is just starting to use the site, or someone who is a regular user that is interested in expanding the subjects they participate in, seeing a few more categories will actually be beneficial.
And if the consensus is that there are "too many boards," I would suggest that the solution to
that is to put all the topics that are only marginally related, or are completely unrelated, to the dramatic arts--as in health/fitness, economics, food, pets, etc--into one big box. They could all go into an "everything else" box. Or be eliminated. (Just to be clear,
I am not one of those who thinks there are too many boards.)
Why are these movies even warranting their own category?
