Yes I remember before there was a pandemic. others franchises are fairing better, why is marvel doing less than 50% of their average while while other franchises are doing 66% of their average ? Bad product? NTTD is the only other cinematic franchise that has done better.

Bad product? Well, the critics haven’t been kind so maybe it is a bad product. I always thought that the MCU should have made more instalments of existing franchises. Another Avengers film for example. Or another Ant Man should have been made by now but at half the budget. The could churn out good, cheaper films but instead they make bloated, inferior films with extravagant production.

NTTD is the only other cinematic franchise that has done better. a quiet place 2 did close to first $6 million more than Shang Chi is what you're wetting yourself over?

Yes I remember before there was a pandemic. others franchises are fairing better, why is marvel doing less than 50% of their average while while other franchises are doing 66% of their average ? Bad product? Mostly because the MCU movies have been banned in China. China is the 2nd biggest market after North America.

Shang-Chi did pretty well in North America, and Black Widow would’ve made more if it weren’t for the Disney+ release. As Skaathar said, none of the MCU movies that have been released this year so far were given a China release, so that’s another thing to keep in mind.

Bad product? Simple math. It's a lot easier to do 66% of what other franchises were doing than it is to do 50% of what Marvel was doing from Avengers through Endgame.

More , less, about the same?
Both the movies are huge critical and commercial failures.
