The 1984 version is fucking bad so this is an easy choice.

Well we only have half a film with the new dune but based solely on what we have so far, I’ll go with 1984

Not to get off-topic, but am I the only one who was reminded of Colonel Kurtz for that bad guy in the black oil from the 2021 version?

Denis won't be the first director to have been inspired to "copy and paste" a scene from another movie into his with minor differences and he won't be the last.

Not sure but the end of the current dune happens half way through the lynch one. also I will add that Lynch’s Baron Harkonen is far superior

It's hard to say, since the 1984 one is so 1980's. And the modern one is so 2020's.

Wondering who will get cast in for the new characters in II. Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Irulan, Alia, The Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV.
A cool casting choice would be Sting for Shaddam. He was Feyd in the 1984 version. Anya-Taylor Joy, the Queen's Gambit girl, would be good for Irulan. Tell Dennis Villanueve he can reach me here

The new one is much better but I prefer Kyle Maclachlan over Chalamet and Toto and Brian Eno’s score was way better than Hans Zimmer’s droning noise
