Showtime‘s Dexter returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night with a very special guest in tow, Michael C. Hall.

It’s not a Dexter Con without Dexter, and this evening there were two in attendance: Hall and Patrick Gibson, the latter of who plays the younger version of the former’s character in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. Hall serves as narrator of the 90s-set series, which will premiere in December.

Additionally, Hall will star in Dexter: Resurrection, a new series that is set in present day and is a followup to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood. It will launch in summer 2025.

As a Dexter super fan I can’t be more excited. I’m getting not one but two new Dexter series.

I really liked Dexter at one point too, but it's just been so fucking long since it was any good.

Lol, seasons 6 & 8 were pretty bad. I really liked season 7, and I liked New Blood too aside from a few things. For me though, I just love the tone and feel of Dexter. Michael C. Hall’s narration combined with the Miami setting and yellow filters are just kinda peaceful. I know it’s weird to describe a show about a serial killer peaceful, but I think that’s why many still enjoy it. Hopefully with the time off the writing finds new life too.
