... for his 100th birthday?
Death Wish? Once Upon a Time in the West? The Magnificent Seven? The Dirty Dozen?
I think I will go with "The Dirty Dozen". I haven't seen it in decades.

I'd like to see something I've not seen before. I'll see if there's anything relatively obscure screening on youtube. I'm interested in seeing more of the genre films he made early in his career. I'd like to see Gene Fowler's 'Gang War' (1958) for example.

That's certainly a landmark. Afraid I cannot plan any of his films on short notice. But I did watch OUaTitW and Jubal in the last month.

Good point about watching a "new" one, so to speak. I changed my mind. I will watch "Chato's Land" instead. I own it but I have never watched it.

I like 'Chato's Land', it's an interesting western with an unusual angle. I'm hoping I'll find something new on youtube, if not then I might dust off an old favourite (I also have a couple of Charles Bronson dvd box-sets).

That would definitely be a good choice too. It's another one that I haven't rewatched in decades, even though I own it on Blu-Ray. Does Charles Bronson have a big role in it? I can't remember.

I am currently watching Breakout(75). It is different from other Bronson lead actor films in that many of the other actors are also well known (Duvall, Quaid, Ireland and Huston). These films are all new to me. As a kid, I remember seeing a Bronson film (I think) where he is an amnesia victim who is taught to believe he killed someone, there is a beach. That's all I know- I'll have to locate that one.

Maybe Breakheart Pass 1975 since I haven't seen it since the mid-1980s.

So I watched “Chato’s Land”. Decent western, although that rape scene was hard to stomach – and considering that I watched it mostly because it was the 100th anniversary of Charles Bronson’s birth and that the name of his character is right there in the title of the movie, I was a bit disappointed that his role was secondary and that he had so very few lines. But that’s a minor gripe of course. The dynamics in the posse characters was really interesting.

It doesn't get played on late night television in the U K like it used to. Nowadays it's mostly just 'Death Wish' sequels on heavy rotation unless you pay subscription fees for specialist movie channels.

Just watched a really good early Bushinsky / Bronson where he had a pretty important role: Crime Wave (1953)
