I'm probably gonna watch this documentary soon, been meaning to get around to it for a long time. Is it worth it in your opinion?

Weird as hell, but worth it. Ebert was a big fan. Even did an audio commentary, but I've never listened.

I thought it was incredibly boring. Crumb is a self absorbed person who really didn't offer much insight into anything. Being stuck on yourself is the most common type of person today- not at all unique.

What I remember the most about this film: Crumb's brother draws a comic book with the characters' dialogue in comic strip balloons. As the brother's mental state deteriorates, the dialogue gets wordier and wordier, with the balloons expanding to accommodate all of the words until they eventually squeeze the characters to the bottom of the blocks, finally eliminating the illustrations altogether. The end result is just pages and pages of minuscule script, a haunting depiction of the brother's descent into mental illness which is more effective than most actors' portrayals of mental breakdowns.

I thought this was fantastic by the way. Highly recommended to those who haven't seen it.
