It's pretty much a given it's happening this year. What about next year? The year after?

Doomed to the very best players competing against each other? Well, until other teams prove themselves better.

Doomed to the very best players competing against each other? Well, until other teams prove themselves better. Agreed. With the Cavs and Warriors about to face off the NBA Finals for the 3rd year, it'll be the NBA's best rivalry since Celtics vs Lakers in the 1980s.
The 2 teams with the best players facing off in the postseason for 3 straight years. That's pretty rare. I don't know if MLB or NHL has an example of that, but the closest the NFL ever had of the 2 teams with the best players facing off in the postseason for 3 straight years was the 49ers vs Cowboys in 3 straight NFC Championship Games in the early 1990s.

Doomed to the very best players competing against each other? Well, until other teams prove themselves better. Unless you're a Cavs or Warriors fan, it's a bad idea for the sport to have the same two teams in the Finals for many years in a row, where it seems impossible for other teams to get in. I like the Cavs to an extent, as I have ties to Cleveland, but even I don't like the idea of the same two teams every year. Of course, I'm really a Heat fan.

I mean, last year was one of the greatest NBA Finals of all time, I don't get why people are upset it's going to happen again. We get to see the greatest player of this era in the midst of a rivalry with the Golden State superteam, a rivalry that intensifies every year. It's a period of NBA history that will be recalled as legend. And we're living through it.
People say it's "boring" but I suspect it comes down to nothing more than jealousy. Did people whine this much when the Lakers and Celtics dominated the NBA? I'm not even a Warriors/Cavs fan, I'm simply interested in seeing the best possible basketball for the Championship. That's the two best teams competing against each other, and it's a fascinating story on top of that.

It's pretty cool that this one may at least begin with no key serious injuries.

Ehhhhhh, it is a little boring. Yea, Celtics/LA were going to the finals a lot but other teams were in the mix. Three straight years? IDK, I dont mind it because both teams are talented....but it is getting old.

Assuming you aren't primarily a Warriors or Cavs fan, aren't you invested enough in your team that it kind of ruins your enjoyment of the game, though? Your whole season will seem pointless. No matter how well your team does during the regular season, and even if they get into the playoffs, they're going to be done as the Warriors and Cavs head to the Finals yet again. How many years do you want that to go on for, with there being no chance of your team winning, before you get tired of it? Even if there's really little chance at the beginning of the season of your team winning it all at the end--because maybe they're a mess and need a serious rebuild, in sports where there's more variety in who wins, it makes you feel like your team has a chance, and that makes the season more exciting, more entertaining.

Maybe it will turn into Yankees-Dodgers. Played each other 6 times in a decade ('47-56), 4 times in 5 years.

People hate when the same team wins too often. Never heard many complaints when Jordan's Bulls won every year.

How many years do you want that to go on for, with there being no chance of your team winning, before you get tired of it? That mentality reminds me of a child rage quitting a video game because the other players are too good. Look, the NBA doesn't have a lot of parity. It never really has. Even in the last 20 years, unless you're a Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Spurs, Warriors or Cavs fan, it's extremely unlikely your team has had much chance of winning. Hell, my team hasn't won since they had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and that was their only championship. But I'm a fan of the sport, and having little chance at winning doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the season and how the Bucks are progressing, with a bright future ahead. If they get past LeBron, great! If not, at least I know I'm watching the very best in the game compete for the title. If other teams don't like it... beat them. The people I know who i consider hardcore fans of their teams are pretty miserable when there's little hope of them winning.
