Despite my frustration with the behind the scenes drama, I did have to laugh that once again the "fandom menace" supposed inside sources that she was about to be fired were wrong.

The fandom menace probably gets the last laugh on you if any and all projects Kennedy okays and oversees are badly received and make less-than-impressive profit.

She should be fired. The fish rots from the head.

Despite my frustration with the behind the scenes drama, I did have to laugh that once again the "fandom menace" supposed inside sources that she was about to be fired were wrong. And they’ll continue to be wrong. Kathleen Kennedy is not going to be fired. She is not going anywhere. Why? Because Disney still wants to, or thinks they can graft Star Wars onto Disney rather than grafting Disney onto Star Wars. The sequel trilogy tried to do the former. The Mandalorian does the latter. And since Kathleen embodies the former better than anyone else, and has a much superior resume than anyone else trying to do the same, she is going to stay in charge of LucasFilm. That’s not going to change unless Disney decides to apply the Mandalorian model to everything they do in SW. Doubtful.
