I honestly don't like talking to my family now. I can't imagine I'll want to torture myself for a second to talk to them when I'm dead. I went years without a cellphone just so nobody could call me.

Spending 3 days in Satan's Hell is most definitely NOT "doing OK in the afterlife". The whole thing would be a big fat lie.
Hellz to the no.

No,
Simple enough. You can't deal with scum. The devil is scum. Scum don't keep their end of a deal.

Maybe if the only alternative is going to heaven where all the religious people are. Seriously, religious people. Spending eternity with you in heaven is not the selling point you seem to think it is.

Actually the Devil is quite famous for always keeping his end of whatever deals he makes according to most folk tales about him. To the letter, I might add. The deals may not be fair, but the devil does keep them.

You've seen too many Bedazzle movies and read too many devil and Daniel Webster stories. The devil is always a liar. Always. The only reason he keeps underlings is if he needs someone to tell the truth sometimes. He can't do it.

Spending eternity with you in heaven is not the selling point you seem to think it is. Machiavelli said it nicely: “I desire to go to Hell and not to Heaven. In the former I shall enjoy the company of popes, kings and princes, while in the latter are only beggars, monks and apostles.”

Can’t people do that sort of thing in Heaven?

Can’t people do that sort of thing in Heaven? You have to go through 3 days in Satan's Hell in order to do this. That's why it doesn't seem to happen too often.

Maybe if the only alternative is going to heaven where all the religious people are. Seriously, religious people. Spending eternity with you in heaven is not the selling point you seem to think it is. One man’s hell is another man’s heaven. I find this a very strange conversation, because we are assuming we know what both are like if they do exist. If Hell is as depicted in Dante's Inferno, then I would choose Heaven by default. There are multiple versions of Hell and some of them have Satan as a prisoner at the bottom level and Hell isn't run by him. It is a prison/torture chamber created and run by God. In Dante's Inferno, Satan is portrayed as a giant demon, frozen mid-breast in ice at the center of Hell. Satan has three faces and a pair of bat-like wings affixed under each chin. As Satan beats his wings, he creates a cold wind that continues to freeze the ice surrounding him and the other sinners in the Ninth Circle. The winds he creates are felt throughout the other circles of Hell. In his three mouths, he chews on Judas Iscariot, Marcus Junius Brutus, and Gaius Cassius Longinus. Scholars consider Satan to be "a once splendid being (the most perfect of God's creatures) from whom all personality has now drained away". Satan, also known as Lucifer, was formerly the Angel of Light and once tried to usurp the power of God. As punishment, God banished Satan out of Heaven to an eternity in Hell as the ultimate sinner. Dante illustrates a less powerful Satan than most standard depictions; he is slobbering, wordless, and receives the same punishments in Hell as the rest of the sinners. In the text, Dante vividly illustrates Satan's grotesque physical attributes.

If Hell actually exists, I would spend 3 days there just out of curiosity. This is of course if I was guaranteed only 3 days and then would go to Heaven. This is also assuming Hell is eternal torture, which is obviously the version of Hell that is being proposed in the hypothetical.
Being pedantic, using the word "day" when talking about an eternal place doesn't make much sense.
I have all sorts of problems with the question that is being asked by the OP, so I don't see a point in even answering it.

just to send a message in a dream of a loved one that you are doing ok in the afterlife, or to tell them you love them, would you do it? No. I wouldn't give up anything to communicate with someone via a dream. They'd not believe it was real so it would be a waste of whatever I spent or gave up to do it. I've dreamed about dead people before and never thought it was them trying to communicate with me...it was just a dream.

I was going to say 'visit you as a ghost', but I used to have this belief that ghosts would never reveal themselves and decided to put it as 'in a dream', like my Grandmother, and other's, claim to have been visited by deceased loved ones in.
So, if you wanted to visit your living loved one, would you send six days in Satan's Hell to do so?

Absolutely not. Spending three days in hell is not doing fine in the afterlife. There's also no indication you can contact your living relatives if you are in the afterlife whether it's heaven or hell.
