(Ruthless Aggression Era), what do you think he would've done? He started to break into Hollywood in 2001 and was popping in and out of wrestling until 2004 when he ultimately stopped and wouldn't step foot in a WWE ring again for seven years. How do you think he would've fared during the Ruthless Aggression Era if he continued to make appearances? Could you see him wrestling in big dream matches like Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley did whenever they were available to wrestle, or do you think he would be reserved for Raw Anniversary specials and fan voting ppvs like Taboo Tuesday to be a potential special guest referee like Stone Cold was back then?
I figured i'd ask since WWE just released the second season of the docu-series of the Ruthless Aggression Era with the first episode being about The Rock, in reference to his 25th year anniversary of becoming a pro wrestler.

he returned around king of the ring 2002 and was already feuding with Taker. Angle. Benoit. Guererro. and Lesnar. after his feud with Lesnar there was really no one else for him to feud with except put him somewhere in the middle of the michaels/triple h feud.
once he made gold with mummy returns and scorpion king it was a foregone conclusion he was likely going to be 100% hollywood

This could've been good given his history with them. There's been stories floating around about how those two tried to hold him back behind the scenes, and it's even happened on screen once. I suppose if The Rock was willing to work with Shawn Michaels in spite of their differences off camera, he could've not only gone against he and Triple H but he could've even aligned himself with Mick Foley and this way a dream match could've occurred between DX and The Rock 'n' Sock Connection.

It's ok. He might've been able to work a program with them from 2003 onwards had he kept making appearances. He was done by 2004 though and stayed in Hollywood, and by the time he came back to wrestle, Shawn Michaels was retired.
