It was a fun little time-killer but not much more.
The Twilight Zone did this 60 years ago inside half an hour and squeezed out more chills and suspense.

Is M3gan supposed to be a comedy? In a way, yea. All the while when I thought this was the dumbest looking thing I'd seen in forever, I didn't realize it was directed by the guy who made Housebound, which was a great deal of fun. It was dumb and creepy at once, and very knowingly stupid, which was the right tone for that movie. It makes me a little more accepting of this one.

I saw at least one interview with the director where he said something akin to 'My heart is in comedy.' so I have no doubt, while horror, there are deliberately comedic elements thrown in. The dead pet advertisement at the beginning is one for sure.

Surprisingly watchable considering it's just a mash-up of The Terminator and Chucky. Also, a real warning for the future when the tech catches up, don't leave the kids alone with robots!

Yeah, it was alright. The tik tok dance scenes were indeed extremely annoying, as I thought they'd be, but none of this is meant to be a serious satire or intense horror. I think it was clearly always going to be pretty shallow in the satirical and the horrific elements so it leaned into silly fun. Probably the right move.
