The Biden administration on Wednesday released over 1,000 previously classified documents relating to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The 1,491 documents include filings from the CIA, FBI, State Department and other federal agencies. Among them is a report that Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald visited the Cuban and USSR embassies in Mexico in search of a visa in the months before Kennedy's killing. According to a CIA document, another version of which was previously released, one of the people Oswald spoke to was the Soviet embassy's consul, who had ties to the KGB's "assassination department." The documents say they spoke about Oswald's efforts to get a visa to go to the Soviet Union. Some of the tips investigators chased did not ultimately pan out. Among the leads disclosed in the filings was a report that the Australians had received a tip in 1962 from a man who claimed he was a driver for Soviet diplomats that there was a plot to kill Kennedy. Officials tried to confirm parts of the man's story and concluded he was a crank. The filings show the U.S. wanted to divulge information about the tip decades ago but was asked not to by the Australian government. The documents were originally scheduled to be released earlier this year, but President Joe Biden issued an extension for the National Archives to produce the documents in October after the archivist said their work had been slowed by the pandemic.
Under a 1992 law inspired by the Oliver Stone movie "JFK," the National Archives was supposed to have released all of the remaining classified records by October 2017.
The National Archives released a large tranche of documents that month, but held back others at the request of then-President Donald Trump. In a memo, Trump said that "executive departments and agencies have proposed to me that certain information should continue to be redacted because of national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns."
The release Wednesday was the largest number of documents to be declassified since then, and the final set of documents is expected to be released by Dec. 15 of next year. In his October order, Biden said all the information should be released "unless the redaction is necessary to protect against an identifiable harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement, or the conduct of foreign relations that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in disclosure."

Does anyone really expect there to be documents in the National Archives that will imply that something different happened, than what the official historical account claims happened?
Probably, Just like most documents of historical events involving UFOs...
I highly doubt, that anything that contradicts the official claims, was ever sent to the National Archives, to be filed there, for later release.
Why the hell would anyone, who covered up the truth, let such incriminating evidence get officially archived?
It's probably all been... burned, hidden in someone's secret safe in a long forgotten underground bunker, or locked up at Area 51... where the public can't ever get their hands on it...
Sure, I suspect that our government has lied about many things throughout our history... And as much as I want to know the truth about it all... It won't come from the National Archives... and if it does, I would think that, THAT would be more shocking, than what is revealed.
There are no "The Second Shooter Of JFK" files there.

He wanted to defect to Cuba, thinking it to be the Marxist paradise that the USSR was not. And he had to sweet talk the Soviets to get them to sweet talk the Cubans. And the Russians laughed at him. Furthers the theory that Oswald's life had bottomed out (Marina had enough of his cruelty, George de Mohrenschildt had had enough of his idiocy) and his Marxist dreams were shattered. A man with nothing left and who decided to make his mark on history. And the KGB archives had permanently shown that the Soviets had nothing to do with it. Like La Cosa Nostra and Castro, the game wasn't worth the prize.

That the embassies rejected him could have sparked him with a "I'll show them." I seriously doubt the USSR or Cuba wanted Kennedy dead. The Mob was different and Oswald had a connection with them from his days in New Orleans. We will never know now. The Mob could have brought down Kennedy any time they wanted with Judith Exner. Kennedy was banging a woman on the side. Yeah, people knew that. But banging a woman who was banging Sam Giancana and John Roselli? How will that play out in the papers? And, if the US press wouldn't touch a story like that, I bet foreign papers would have. At the very least, the scandal hinders Kennedy's agenda. It probably kills his reelection chances in 1964. The Mafia might have been a lot of things but stupid they weren't. That's a lot cleaner than having a zilch with absolutely no connections shoot the President on orders from the Commission. The same Commission that had Dutch Schultz killed because he wanted to whack a Manhattan DA, Thomas Dewey. In 1963, the US public and the FBI was willing to put up with their shit. If it had ever came out that the Mafia had a hand in the assassination, the Mafia would have been squashed like a bug.

As with all mysteries and conspiracy theories, it's the little things that bother me. If Oswald wanted to make his mark on history, why bother hiding after the shooting? Why bother with the, "I'm just a patsy," comments? You'd expect a guy in his situation to either start spouting political ideology or batshit insanity, he did neither. The other issue I have is with Jack Ruby. A guy with mob ties is suddenly so patriotic he decided to kill the presidential assassin in front of everyone? It seems so random. While suspicious, none of this is proof of anything, obviously. Then again, there are inexplicable circumstances involving the book Mortal Error, such as why Hickey waited so long to sue the publisher if he knew the story was bullshit. There are problems with every theory and it's a natural reaction to suspect conspiracy when an icon is killed. It's hard to imagine them falling at the hands of a nobody; whether it's Philip II of Macedon or JFK, we always want it to mean more. Shit happens, though. Wild Bill was shot in the back of the head by that loser McCall. With JFK, some people point at the mob, others the Feds, others the communists; deep divers connect some or all of these entities. There are too many loose ends for me to say for certain what happened that day. Occam's Razor probably points to Oswald alone, and honestly, the best thing for the nation would be for that to be the truth. Let's hope it's the case.

I'm not arguing with you Rey, just the conspiracy nuts that might read this later...
I wouldn't really say Oswald "hid" after the shooting. He shot a Dallas PD officer. There's no doubt he shot JD Tippit, there were witnesses and the ballistics matched the gun he had when arrested. He would have fired for that, Kennedy or no Kennedy. And Jack Ruby's mob connections were as thin as a promise. Mobsters drank at his strip clubs. So did cops. He was small potatoes. And everyone who knew Jack Ruby agreed on one thing, he had a big mouth. I do agree that the motive he came up with, sparing Jackie from the grief or a trial, is laughable. And why did Ruby show up late? The official agenda was that Oswald was to be turned over to the Federal government at 9 am. He would then be charged with the assassination and taken to DC. At the last minute, they decided to let Dallas PD interrogate Oswald a little longer. At 9 am, Ruby was home watching TV.
The only thing that does bug me is the Zapruder film. The killing shot does look like it comes from in front of the limo and from JKF's right. I've seen explanations that can explain it. But I've seen so much BS come from the conspiracy side that I take everything with a grain of salt. But I still cannot see any group who wanted to kill the most powerful man on Earth using a wife beating Commie and a big mouth owner of a titty bar.
