religion. Which one would that be? I'm saying, normally you wouldn't if you are an atheist of course.
But then again hypothetically , if you had to.

Anything goes with Unitarian Universalism, including atheism. So, I suppose I'd be comfortable there. Either that or Raelism.

Or Bastet?

Although they apparently started out more or less the same, Sekhmet morphed into a goddess of war while Bastet morphed into a house cat.

I’ll go with Church of England. No point in wasting a baptism even though I was much too young to know what was going on.

It's a bit of a hard question really - the main reason to join a religion should be that you have faith in its main claims. If you are an atheist (and therefore lack faith) there's no real reason to join any of them.
The religions that appeal most to me are Catholicism (particularly liberation theology) and Hinduism.

Christianity. I know enough about it to fake it with ease. And it's one of the more flexible belief systems...there seems to be NO common denominator concerning what people should and shouldn't do to BE a Christian. Any law abiding citizen in the US can pass as a Christian.

Not necessarily so, depending on the denomination you stumble into. Watch your step.

Not necessarily so, depending on the denomination you stumble into. Watch your step. That's just it...I am very familiar with the Christian denominations and their quirks and foibles and would be able to avoid the ones that I didn't like or didn't want to emulate. I would shy away from Baptist, RCC, Church of Christ and the independent fungelicals for example and stick with the easy going Methodists or something similar. And I would not worry that one of the more strict fundamental denominations didn't think I was 'living' right...hell, they say that about other genuine (what ever that means) Christians.

Aaaah, go with Unitarian Universalism. It's foolproof, I tells ya! And if I was to join some other religion entirely...I'd be completely lost. Can you imagine trying to 'fake it' as a Muslim? NO THANKS. I'll take my chances with a luke warm social congregation of casual Christians than a band of fanatics who might spot a fraud a mile away. Lot's of churches don't care a diddly what you do as long as they get your regular tithes and offerings.
