Obviously a legend and has a mystique about him. RIP. Seems like it's 'Taboo' to bring his name/death up among certain communities. Opinions on him as a persona? In ring grappler? His death and legacy? Tragic story. Sad beyond belief. Anyone ever see (I think jayn1000 in another thread when i posted this - sorry if I got your name wrong dude) this match against a young Lex Luger when Luger is extremely young - either his first match or one of his first matches - and Brody never sells for him? Very unprofessional. Luger pretty much being a kid is legit 'scared' and just hops out of the cage ring being Brody is no-selling and he doesn't know what to expect. Link: Brody Vs. Luger Shoot FightNone the less - I don't know why more wrestlers weren't modeled off Brody - 'The Berzerker' come to mind but a sorry excuse? The one present day Wyatt guy? You give a nut like this a Charles Manson persona ala Cactus Jack with a giant build like that and run with it.....

The man will certainly be remembered as a legend. Personally I am not a huge fan but I am a fan. The man just had it out for promotors and had it in his head that they were all out to screw him on pay. As a result, he'd hold up buildings, purposely screw up matches, etc.. I believe that got him in the end. You can't screw around in Puerto Rico. Not only are the buildings filled with the worst scum of society that was out to either stab you, or throw human feces, and rocks aiming for your head, urine, you name it, but obviously a promotor that was a subhuman murdering monster.

Colon who was the promoter and now in the WWE HOF maybe knew about it? Just fascinating. Awesome hilarious shoot where Flair states he was there that night - but it's confirmed otherwise he was wrestling in Carolina that night - gee....OK Ric - love ya - but you kind of lost all credibility there **Edit OK. here's the shoot - Ric claims he was there - but read the comments below. Apparently he was never on the card Link: Flair on the Brody Card?

It's hard to say because it seems like everybody has a different story on it. It's one of those things where people at the time were afraid to talk or testify or they'd have a hit put out on them and they would be no longer with us either. The Invader was the murderer. I'd have to go back and listen to more shoots because I really don't remember the full story. It's been awhile. Carlos Colon I believe helped the guy get off on the charges. Everybody was corrupt over there. I don't have access to video right now so I'll check that out later, but I hear that Flair is not always that reliable when it comes to what he says these days lol. I remember at the time, the territory did take a big hit at the time, but they were still pretty hot. I was able to watch the territory on a Spanish channel I got on cable back in 1988 I think the year was. You'd see a lot of cool feuds and guys coming in to do shots. A lot of action and good wrestling. But business just went down further and further as the years went by. But I guess that'd be true for any and all territories that were still going.

Carlito - 2007 Scott Hall vs. CarlitoI imagine getting out of the arena and you need to have 10 eyes behind your back watching what's going on as you're trying to high tail it out of the country to your next booked gig. more power to em - needs to be a movie made about this. wrestlers trying to make ends meat performing in a poverty stricken area motel hopping from night to night. been a long time since 'the wrestler' - i find this stuff fascinating - i.e. like 'Beyond the Mat' watching Roberts.....

It was just bad. Guys had to fear for the life going back to the dressing room. They said even driving around in that area, never stop at a red light or you will get car jacked. The people were just the lowest of the low. I'm not judging them all like that, but I"m just saying a lot of guys wouldn't go down there for that reason. Did the Wrestler do well at the box office? I don't even know. I enjoyed that movie because I've been to most of those buildings they filmed at and those were the indy guys I used to see at the local shows. I was at one of the tapings for the movie. They cut out my scene that I was on camera for. My one shot at stardom

My one shot at stardom wow. that's awesome. i saw it in the theater and own it. get it going once a year. rips your guts out. don't know about the box office numbers. was by the same guy that did Requiem for a Dream (Darren Antrovsky?? spelling??) - pretty much makes you feel like you got punched in the stomach at the end of the movie.

Yeah lol as we've discussed before, that's not my thing with those dark movies. If it wasn't about wrestling and I didn't know all the guys in it and the buildings, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it. I saw it in the theater once and my friend was in it when they taped at one of the ROH shows I think and he marked out for himself big time on the big screen lol.

Rourke in tears looks at the crowd, sees his girl is gone in the stands, climbs to the top rope fighting back tears......... jesus - i'm a wrestling fan - but even if this wasn't about wrestling it's got to be one of the Top 10 tear jerkers i've ever seen in my life. awesome you got to take part though.

If they ever make a movie about Brody, I could see Luke Harper playing him.

Yeah it was a good movie. But a real downer. Yeah that was Ernest Miller at the end. I forget what his name was in the movie. I'm not sure I'll ever watch the movie again, but I had a good time seeing places and guys I recognized on the big screen. The taping I was at was where you saw Ron Killings in the match. Does that sound familiar? I remember they told the crowd to jazz it up a little bit in the front rows. And during Killings match these fans were going absolutely apeshit. You'd think it was MSG and Hogan won the wwf title for the first time. It was a little over the top lol. I was sitting in the bleachers and Rourke walked up to the bleachers and sat a few rows in front of me. It was a scene where he was just supposed to be there watching the show. They did like 5 takes of him just walking up the stairs to the bleachers. Ofcourse that ended up on the cutting room floor. My friends went to the CZW show that they did a taping at. I guess that was the stuff with the barbwire and all that
